My POV

I sat in my classroom filing and painting sticks, Neville walked in a few moments later, smiling at me sadly "what are you doing there?" he asked

I shrugged "I don't trust first years quite yet so I'm making mock wands to teach them spells," I mumbled, wiping my cheek and getting brown paint there. he walked over and wiped it away

"Are we ever going to talk about your arranged marriage or are we going to ignore it? love, it's eating away at me" he said softly

I let out a shaky sigh "w-we can talk about it...but I'm not going to get married to him. he's a heartless git. my father can't do anything he's in a home" I said the last part in a cold tone.

he ran his fingers through my hair "I was hoping for my kids to have grandparents, but it looks like that's not going to happen" he said with a chuckle, trying to make light of the situation

"they'll have a grandmother, she's strict but she really does love children" I looked up at him "not that it matters to me, but what's your blood status?" I asked nervously

"pureblood," he said, I let out a sigh of relief

"good good...it doesn't matter to me, you could've been a muggle for all I care, but my mother is still a bit prejudice" I mumbled

he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into his chest "we will make it work" he whispered

"I don't deserve you, nev. really I don't, I lied to you. why aren't you mad at me?" I asked weakly

"oh I'm bloody pissed," he said, rubbing my back

"then be mad! yell at me! why are you comforting me?" I tried to push him off

"Adrienne, what use is there in yelling at you? what would that achieve? I wish you told me sooner, yes, but you can't go back and tell me" he said, holding me in place

"get mad! be mad at me! yell at me!" I wriggled against his arms "be angry!"

"I'm not going to yell at you Adrienne, so stop!" he said, raising his voice

"No, I deserve it!" I put my head against his chest "I am engaged and dating you. be mad! get angry!"

"merlin it's like talking to a fucking brick wall" he hissed "you're throwing a tantrum over me not yelling at you." he groaned "why are you so complicated, yes I'm mad at you but yelling at you doesn't change the fact that it's out of your hands! you have me wrapped so far around your stupidly adorable finger that you could kill someone and I'd bury the body for you" he rubbed his forehead "I love you, Adrienne, so please. stop trying to fight with me. I don't want to fight with you"

I sighed and wrapped my arms around him "you deserve better than me" I said, a pit building in my stomach. I felt guilty and awful. I was broken both mentally and physically. Neville was kind, charming and understanding, I didn't deserve him.

"you can think that but you're all that I want." he whispered, kissing my forehead "three of my friends are coming to have lunch with me. come with me, I want them to meet you. You mentioned you already met harry, and then there's going to be ron and Hermione, who are married," he said, running his fingers through my tangled hair

"okay" I mumbled "I need to clean up" I whispered, closing my eyes "maybe we could go to America for a weekend...you could meet my parents, maybe because you're a pureblood they'll let me marry you instead"

"I'd like that, my love" he lifted my hand and cupped my face "cheer up, I'm not letting you go anytime soon" he said, picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder. I squealed out of surprise "merlin, give me a warning!" I laughed as he carried me into my room, tossing me on my bed. I sat up and looked at him with a smile. he made his way to my closet, flipping through my clothes
