Shock and Delight

Lady Whistletowns POV

There will forever be just two words that come to this author's mind the morning after any good party, "shock" and "delight." Well, dear reader, the scandalous accounts from last night's soiree at Vauxhall
are quite shocking and delightful indeed. Emerging, phoenix-like from the ashes of irrelevance, is one Miss Daphne Bridgerton. The illustrious debutante was seen dancing not once, but twice with the season's most eligible and most uncatchable rake, the Duke of Hastings. This author must also note the beautiful miss Adelaide Waters who was seen only for a few minutes with the handsome Duke of Windsor yet this writer must note the burning jealously of ever other lady present for the fact that these two looked rather cozy together. 

Adelaide POV

Once again it had seemed Cole and I had been stuck together again while Daphne and Simon walked in front of us 

"Well we are stuck once again" Cole comments I look at him and see the smile playing on his face 

"Indeed we are" I replied 

"You know this whole always ending up stuck together has me thinking some kind of way Lady Waters" Cole says with a cheeky smirk I turn to glare at him 

"I am certain I do not want to know what you are thinking your grace" I reply sappily 

"Please Lady Waters I am not a complete heathen, my simple thought was how you and I are too good of friends" he says 

"Explain?" I say returning my gaze back to Daphnes back 

"Well you and I seem to only ever meet when our friends need us there" he states and I hear a laugh escape my lips 

"You're correct" I laugh and he smiles seemingly proud 

"Your laugh is beautiful" he whispers as if no one should hear his secret I look at him questioningly "but then again I don't expect anything less from such a beautiful woman"   

"You are too much of a charmer your grace" I say he smiles 

"Cole" he states 

"hm?"

"Cole call me Cole I hate being called Grace" he says I stop in my steps and I see his confused expression as he turns around to face me I hold my hand towards him

"Nice to meet you Cole my name's Adelaide" I say he smiles before placing his hand in mine and giving it a shake 

"Would you like to go get some food Adelaide?" Cole asks I smile as he holds out his elbow for me to take 

"I'd love to Cole" I say holding his elbow 

Lady Whistletowns POV

Now is this the form of a new friendship or romance for Lady Adelaide Waters is known for not being able to season until she is 21, the writer can only assume this Duke doesn't care much for rules anyways. 

Cole POV

As I had walked her home she had nervously pushed me out the door once we were close enough to hear the argument that must have been between Anthony and his sister. I immediately went to the boxing ring where I knew Simon would be practising 

"So the orphan then?" Simon says from inside the ring as he bounces around swinging shots at Will I placed a smoke in my mouth before lighting it 

"What do you mean Simon? If you have something to say I suggest you say it" I reply he turns to look at me before Will gets him in the face I chuckle 

"Do not take me fore a fool, we may not be blood brothers but we were practically raised together and you talking to anyone yet alone a female without taking her to bed is something I have never witnessed" Simon yells while punching Will repeatedly
