How The Books Were Actually Written

Here's what happened: After he got his memory back, Lockhart decided to write about the adventures of Harry Potter. He had the basic outline, but his plot was over-dramatized and he gave his notes to a professional writer, Rita Skeeter. However, Rita knew that if she published anything in the Wizarding World Hermione would expose her... so she made an alias- J.K. Rowling. After doing her research on Harry's life before Hogwarts, she found it too sad and decided to down tone it a bit. This, of course, led to slight changes in the rest of the story. While doing her research, she found out that Harry used to live in Surrey, and using her manipulative magic she added compulsions to the publishers of her first book to only sell overseas- at least until the Dursley's all passed away. After the Dursley's passed away, the books were sold all over the world... and were even found in some Wizarding shops! The Trio were certain it was Rita, but after the 4th book they weren't so sure any more- after all, why would Rita expose herself? However, she HAD been missing for a while now... Deciding to ignore the matter, the Trio continued with their lives.
