Chapter 11

Novelty's POV

I like it here. I love knowing me and my son are safe.

August and I are currently watching the Lion King. Its our favorite movie.

We've been here a month now and nothing has happened. I know soon I'll have to leave. I'll be ok. We'll be ok.

I get up to the bathroom.
My aunt is at work right now. Although she has a farm she still has a job running the local farmers market.

On my way back I look out the patio door to see a hooded figure. I know it's one of Ares people and I just go over there.

"August sit still, Mommy will be right back."

As I walk closer to the person i realize the person is Tares.

"Did Ares send you?" I ask with venom in my voice.

"Yes, but I'm not here for him... I'm here for me."

I sigh. Tares really pulls my heart strings.

"You know I can't be with you." I state.

"Why. Just tell me why. Before Ares I had you quivering at with my fingers and the tip of my tongue."

"I.... I just can't." I say stepping back..

She quickly reaches me and flips us so I'm up against a tree.

"Give me a reason." she whispers in my ear.

I collapse under her gaze.
"You left. When we would get together it was always sex. I told you I didn't want to be with you and you took it as a joke. I found Ares and he paid attention to me. I didn't know until later that you were siblings. Now I'm stuck with having he both of you chasing after me. I don't want either of you."

I realize I have tears running down my cheeks.

"I'm sorry." she says quietly.
"I didn't mean to ignore you and I'm sorry. I just want you back."

"I have to get back to my son." I say coldly, waiting for her to let me go.

She steps back and I begin to walk away.

"I love you and you have to choose. I'll be back tomorrow Nony. "

I shiver at the name she used but keep walking none the less. I don't stop until I'm in the house and back in the bathroom on the floor against the door balling my eyes out. Stuck in a love triangle between two siblings.

After awhile I get up. Just like Beyoncé says "I'm a grown woman". I have to figure this out and go take care of my child.

I leave the bathroom and go to see my son in the living room. He's so good, he doesn't deserve all of this.

"August baby."

"Yes Mommy." he replies in his cute little voice.

"What do you think of daddy?"
"Daddy is nice and he buys me so many cool toys." he says with so much excitement.

"You know mommy and daddy are not together right?" I ask him.

"Yes I know,but he says he likes you like alot, alot." he says holding his arms out wide.

"Mommy used to like him alot alot too." I say mimicking him.

"Do you want to go back and see Daddy?"

"Yes!!!! I like daddy." he screams jumping up and down.
Ok then baby, get your stuff together we'll go back."

I have to stop running and face my problems head on. I realize I haven't been fair to neither Ares nor Tares. They both at least deserve an explanation.

I start helping August with packing all of our things.

Just as we finish Joy gets home.

"Hey auntie ."I say giving her a hug.

"Hi lovely."

I waste no time and immediately get to work on explaining her my decision.

She finally comes to terms after a full 30 mins of reassuring her.

"Just know you always have a place with Aunt Joy." she places a kiss on my head before we get up and start loading things in the car.

I wave as I drive away. Now left to my thoughts I know that I have the confidence and will be able to overcome.
