What have I gotten myself into?
I don't need the money but I sure could use it.
I'm distracted from my thoughts by a call.
"Christian" the mechanical voice said.
"How are things going on phase one."
"Things are going good Boss. She agreed to a date and tells me Ares is still advancing on her." I say giving her my report.
"Good keep up with the plan, things will work out in your favor." the voice said hanging up.
I got up and went to get ready for my date.

Novelty's POV
I drove up the gravel pathway to Ares' family estate.
"August honey get unbucled and grab your bag." I said before exiting the car.
We walked up to the door and into the estate just as Tares was coming out of the living room.
"Hey Novelty, hey Aunty's Baby." Tares ssaid picking up August and starting off to the kitchen.
"Ares is in his office" she said without looking back.
I just nod my head and make my way to his office. I walk in not even bothering to knock.
I go and sit in one of the chairs in front of his desk and wait for him to acknowledge me.
"What can I do for you Novelty?" He asked in a clipped tone.
" I need you to watch August for me." I said getting to the point.
"Of course but why." He asked me.
"I have a date tonight"
"With who"
"The person your son does not like."
"Oh, that Tristain person." he says with an underlying tone.
"Hisname is Chnristian" I said with malice
"I don't give a flying fuck what his name is" He said standing, finally lookihng me in the eyes.
" I can't for the life of me understand why your'e doing this. Is it to get back at me, for the cheating. I chased you around the world dammit. I gave you a beutiful son and you ran off with him. Why am I not good enough for you?" He shouted.
"why...." I said standing.
"It never was that you weren't good enough Ares. You always made ME feel as if I was below you. I was with you for 4 years. 4 fucking years and you throw it away for some tramp and the need to get your dick wet." I say making my way to the door.
He starts to round his desk.
"Don't you even think about coming near me right now. Besides you always loved the chase right. That's how you got me the first time. ... Look Ares I'm going on this date whether or not you like it."
"Novelty please" I cut him off.
" I have to go get ready, I'll pick August up tomorrow." I said walking out, faintly hearing him say my name as I walked away.

2 Hours later
I do a final check in the mirror before making my way to my car.
I wasn't about to let him come t6o my house and see where I lay my head he could be crazy.
I arrive at the restaurant 20 mins later and the hostess escorts me to a booth in the back.
He stands up to greet me
"Novelty you look stunning" I kiss his cheek before siting down and returning the complement.
The date went well but I couldn't help but think about Ares in the back of my mind.
I mean I hate him right?
II went back tofocusing on Chris and aske dhim a question.
"So do you have family here or living somewhere else?"
"All my family is dead they died a while back in a freak accident." He said with the hint of a frown on his face.
"Really? I'm sorry for your loss and for asking?"
Hetook my habd and I got some wierd feeling from it. Nolt yet distinguisable as good or bad.
"We were at a ski cabin the whole family. They had sent me down to the lodge to ask if they could send someone to fix acouple of the windows. While i was away there was a miny avalanche bit it covered the house entirely and the furnace hadn't happened to be working. They all died before rescue teams could tunnel through." he says looking down as if remembering.
After that confession we gradually shifted topics and stayed away from talking about families for the rest of the night. He walked me to my car.
"I hope you enjoyed yourself tonight Novelty" he said brushing some of my hair out of my face.
"Indeed I did Christian. Will I be-" Before I had a chance to finish asking he kissed me.
"I hope we can see each other again" he said releasing me.
I just said goodnight and made my way to my car.
As I drove away I saw him watching me and got a slightly chilling feeling, but pushed it away and focused on the road ahead of me.
