Chapter 13

Novelty's POV

"August baby what should I make for dinner?" I ask my son as I walk down the aisles of the Walmart.

"Spaghettio's!"

I shake my head. That's all he ever wants to eat.

"Something other than that baby." I say shaking my head.

"Chicken wing, chicken wing!"

"Chicken macaroni!" I sing after him.

"Cheese and Bologna!" Some voice said behind me.

I turned around to see a FINE male specimen behind me, at least a foot taller than me, but I'm short everyone's taller than me.

Anyway he was seriously sexy, I mean body on FLEEK.

"A- hi, we were just singing about dinner." I said shyly to him.

" I know, that song is my jam, I just had to join in. My name's Christian." he said holding out his hand, which I shook.

"My name's Novelty, nice to meet you."

"And who is this little man." he says looking at August who is glaring at Christian.

"None of your business dooty head." August says shocking me.

I turn to Christian and apologize profusely.

"Augustus Michelangelo Gisseppi Adonis Giotti! You apologize right now. I don't know who you think you are but you will apologize RIGHT NOW!" I say whisper yelling.

"I sincerely apologize Mr., I am sorry for my behavior." he said with a pout.

"I forgive you little man. I know you just don't want strange men talking to your Mommy. We cool." he said offering his hand to August who regretfully accepted it.

"I'm so sorry Christian."

"It's ok he's just a little kid. Tell you what how about you give me your number and we talk later."

"Spsss.... Hooty... Hoo..... Mommy." August said whispering.

I told Christian to wait one second and went over to him.

"I don't like this man. I don't think daddy will like this."

"Baby me and daddy aren't together it is ok." I say reassuredly.

"Ok mommy."

I go back over to Christian and exchange numbers before going our different ways.

" I don't want nobody but you, kissing on my tattoos " Me and August sang in an imperfect harmony.

He thinks he's the next August Alsina but I don't know about all of that.

We were doing dishes after eating and decided to start singing and now we're both dancing.

"I'll tell you one thing, your hips don't lie."

I yelped as I raised a frying pan to my assailant which just turned out to be Ares.

"What are you doing here?"

"Daddy !!!!" August yelled running to him.

"I came to tuck our son into bed." he said emphasizing the word our.

"Well tuck him in because it's MY son's bedtime" I said emphasizing the word my.

He shook his head and walked up the stairs.

I sat there thinking about Christian. Like let me fangirl for a moment. He had abs for DAYS not to mention tall. like I'm 5'6 but he's 6'2 just a little bit shorter than Ares and he has this voice that sounds just like melted chocolate. Lawd please.

I didn't realize I had zoned out for like 15 minutes because Ares came back downstairs.

"Who the fuck is that guy you met at the market today." he said with so much venom.

"Why would I tell you so you can go hurt him."

"You tell me because I should know any person who is potentially going to be around my son and who my son doesn't like."

"August doesn't know him he was acting up earlier today, besides I would never put MY child in a compromising position. you don't control my life Ares. If I want to go out and get a date than I can and you can't stop me."

"Like shit I can't." he said closing in on me, blocking me in against the kitchen counter.

"You are still mine Novelty. This thing we're doing right now is just a break. You will be back with me and you will love it.Go ahead and call Christian and go out with him but trust that I will not lose you to anyone."

With that he walked out of my house leaving me in my frazzled state .
