i figured that people would get bored rather quickly if i didn't start adding methods, so here's the first one. it's one that i've made up myself (i think) but does take elements from other methods

this chapter contains:
juliet method
difficulty of use
ease of shifting (success rate)
preparation needed

juliet method

i have named it the juliet method not to have anything to do with the Shakespearean epic, but rather to be a spin on the julia method

PREPARATION
-some, but it doesn't take long at all
-before you go to bed, i would like you to draw the inside of a lift/elevator. it does NOT need to be complex at all, but i've found that it's made shifting and visualising a LOT easier

this is how simple the drawing can be, the only important part is that the number is either 0 or 100 and the arrow points in the direction you feel as though you are "moving" when you shift

this is how simple the drawing can be, the only important part is that the number is either 0 or 100 and the arrow points in the direction you feel as though you are "moving" when you shift. for example, when i shift, i feel as though as i am falling, so the lift counts down from 100 and the arrow points down

-when you go to bed, read over your script and take a look at your lift/ elevator drawing (makes visualisation WAY easier). put these under your pillow for safekeeping

SHIFTING
-get into the position you find most comfortable (anything works) and begin to affirm "i am" until you feel symptoms which include: floating/falling, dizziness (this is normal, i promise) twitching etc
if you don't experience any symptoms, don't worry, just move on to the next step when you feel like you should
-next, imagine you're in the lift/elevator and watch the numbers count down/go up. if you skip numbers, that's okay, the point of this part is 'turning on' the right side of your brain, which deals with counting from 1-100
at this point, you may feel as though you're floating or falling. if you start to get bored or feel the need to move, that's normal too-this is your left brain trying to regain control, but we don't want that to happen
-once you get to 0 or 100 (depends if you counted up or down) step out of the lift and imagine yourself walking up/ down some stairs
you'll know when to stop taking the stairs
-you should reach a mirror, showing your reflection. if you want to change anything about yourself, this is where you get to do that. if not, then you can leave out the mirror. once you're happy with the way you look, push the mirror and it should open like a door. at this point, your right side brain has taken over and you're free to go anywhere you wish!
feel free to comment and let me know how you got on, if you need any help or it didn't work and i'll try my best to help

difficulty of use

6/10

it's a bit of a complex method when reading it, but it's relatively simple in practise and the prep takes no longer than 5 minutes (unless you have a long script, in which case it will obviously take longer). some people struggle with visualisation which maybe means this method isn't for you, but that's okay. the point of this book is to help you find the best method for you, so we'll just keep trying!

success rate

9/10

no method is perfect, which is why i've given it a 9 out of 10, but it differs from person to person. the first time i tried it, it was about 2am and i was super tired, so i fell asleep before getting out of the lift, so i ended up having a dream about being stuck in a lift with a serial killer (this probably won't happen to you, i'm just a lucid dreamer). otherwise, this is my favourite method to use and i hope you give it a try too
