Chapter 10

"You thought you were winning
But I was just laying in the shadows
Waiting for my time to shine."

I was deep in my sleep when I heard a ringing in my ears. I turned on y side ignoring the noises which were disturbing my silence. I tried to block out the constant beeping but it only grew louder and louder.

I let out a groan as I desperately tried to find the source of the beeping. My hand finally settle on a round object which was releasing vibrations through my hands. I tiredly took it up a threw it against the wall.

When I heard the crash I winced and removed the covers from my face. Great now I need a new alarm clock. Reaching over to my nightstand I took up my phone and looked at the time.

I silently cursed my self for setting an alarm for 6 in the morning but I have work to do so I got up and made my bed. When I was finished I walked into the bathroom and brushed my tooth.

After rinsing my mouth I stripped and went into the shower. I finished I left the bathroom and went into my closet. I wore a white off-the-shoulder crop top and a matching bottom ,I put my hair into a simple ponytail. After I was completely ready, I left my room and walked down the hallway to Belle's room.

I knocked once before going in. The sight in front of me almost made me laugh. Belle was pacing around her now messy closet frantically looking for something.

"What are you looking for?" She jumped in surprise of my voice.

"How long have you been here?" She asked, though she was still searching through a pile of clothes on the ground.

"You didn't answer my question."

"I'm looking for my black blazer, have you seen it?"

"Yes you put it in the third drawer."

"Oh thank you, you're a life saver." She went to the drawer and shifted some clothes before she pulled out a matte black blazer and threw it on the bed beside a matching black turtle neck top and a black and white plod bodycon skirt.

I looked around the room and realized that Sofia wasn't here." Where's Sofia?"

"She and Mamma went to see you're mother but they said that they are going to see if they can get her into preschool." Sofia was going to preschool back in Italy but she stopped a week brfore we left.

"Ok I'll wait for you downstairs." I told her before going back to my room.

I went inside the closet and took down my matte nude chunky heel platforms. I walked to the sofa to take up my gun and put it in my purse before walking downstairs.

"Good morning hija." Papa said looking up from his newspaper. " Good morning papa, aren't you supposed to be at work?"

Papa was a man who believes that time is everything so he usually leaves for work pretty early. "No hija you are going to work, I've started my retirement."

"You seem to be forgetting that the employees don't even know that they should be expecting a new boss." At the mention of his employees and boss he folded his fist.

"My assistant already knows so when you go to the office he will call an emergency meeting to announce it and you already know you're way around the place so a tour won't be needed."

He's right but I haven't been to the office in 5 years but he isn't giving away that he changed anything so I guess I should be fine plus if I can't find my way around I could just ask my assistant.
