A deafening silence filled the car, as ADA Lowen drove through the streets of New York. Ariella sat beside him in silence as she gazed out the window. Normally, if Ariella had drove, she would have the radio on to calm her mind. But, the dark haired male had insisted that they take his car. He also insisted on him driving.
"Mr. Low-" Gabriel spoke up. "It's ADA Lowen, Detective Clementine." Ariella fell silent and looked back down to her finger's. "Yes sir," with that Ariella returned her gaze to looking out the window. 'Great! Piss off the new guy Ariella! Ugh I'm such an idiot!' Ariella thought as she wrapped her arms around herself. The slight increase in Ariella's heartbeat caused Gabriel to bit his inner cheek. Was he amused by this pink haired woman? Yes. But he had to be careful not to get Ariella too involved. Of course Muirfield was not a company to play light with. But it was hard when his enchanced senses could pretty much sense every sense of panic he seemed to cause her.
"Detective, you were saying something?" Gabriel asked softly. Ariella heard him and looked down at the files in her lap. Opening the newer one. "Well, I noticed something in the new case file. So in the original case, V started with women and would go from female to male victims. His last victim in the 90's was a male. But the previous victim is a male. Is it possible that if this is the real V he is trying to throw us off or make it look like a copycat?" Gabriel smiled a bit impressed with the fact that Ariella had noticed such a small detail. "And what if it is a copycat?" Ariella bit her lower lip as she felt a familiar feeling creep up, but she simply shook her head lightly. No her detective work was the one thing she knew she was good at. She wasn't going to chicken out now! "Say it was a copycat? There's no way anyone can make the V so accurate." As if Ariella just realized it, both her and Gabriel said at the same time. "Unless they used some kind of tracing device." Ariella said as she looked up. "We need to check this body. If this is a copycst is it possible they were stupid enough to mark before carving?" Ariella asked. "It's possible for an amateur. But-" but Ariella looked up. "We need to look at this case from both angles." Gabriel nodded. "When we get back to the station after this we should check and comapre cases and files to see if there is any leads." The male added.
As the car came to a stop, Ariella closed her case files and turned to look at Gabriel. "Mr. Lowen, is there a particular place you'd prefer I put this?" Ariella asked. Gabriel couldn't help but chuckle. "In the back seat, and remember it's ADA Lowen." He corrected. "Oh right! Sorry! Farm girl life has Mister pounded into my head." She said as she put it in the back on top of the males brief case. Gabriel smiled as the two got out.
Ariella met up beside Gabriel in the front of his car and the two started heading towards the scene as a male uniform rushed over. "Detective Clementine!" He greeted. "Officer Marty! It's been too long!'she said softly as Officer Marty smiled back. "Where's Elliott?" The uniform asked. Ariella smiled softly. "This time I'm working with Mr. Lowen here on a case." Gabriel spoke up. "ADA Lowen." He corrected as he held his hand out. The two shook hands and Ariella looked away flushing a bit. "Sorry."she muttered softly and then regained her composure. "No problem, farm.girl habits are hard to break." Marty said. This made Gabriel quirk an eyebrow as the female began walking towards the scene with officer Marty.
Gabriel made sure to keep up despite the fact he was now behind the two as the third wheel while Marty updated the two. When they arrived at the body there was a sudden gasp that left the pinkette's lips. Gabriel turned in time to see her cover her eyes and turn away. "Detective, please." Gabriel said. "Keep your composure." Ariella peeked out from behind her fingers a bit and this caused Gabriel to bit his lower lip. She made keeping the distance hard. Finally, Ariella forced herself to uncover her face and took a breath. "Sorry," officer Marty chuckled. "You never change when it comes to the gore." Ariella cringed as she looked back at the body. "It's disturbing! But it's okay. I just always forget how distrubing the minds of some can be." Ariella said as she took a pair of gloves from Marty who was holding them out. "One thing is for sure, if this was our killer, it's much more gruesome than before." Ariella said as Gabriel took a pair of gloves and slipped them on. "I mean, look at this. Their are missing organs out of the body. The way this body got slashed up wasn't just any ordinary killing." Gabriel nodded as he bent down and began searching the body. "I agree. This is over kill. Our guy probably released a lot if pent up rage out on this body. But none of our other victims were over killed like this. Is it possible that our guy is snapping mentally?"
Ariella heard Gabriel and flinched a bit as she wrinkled her nose. "I'd like to hope not....but at the same time...I don't want to think of someone in their right mind doing this....no one deserves to go like this." Ariella, moved to examining the part of the torso that had been cut open as Gabriel examined the arms. "I'm not seeing a mark. Is it possible this was a rushed job?" "Something like this takes time though. The only way to tell for sure is to have Evan take a look. I'm going to look around. Maybe there's something that'll make our job a bit easier." With that Ariella took off arms Gabriel stood allowing the paramedics to start bagging the body.
As Gabriel removed his gloves, his dark colored eyes followed Ariella's every move as she engulfed herself into her work. 'A detective with pink hair and a taste for gore. I never though I'd see the day.' Gabriel though as he began walking towards Ariella, letting out a chuckle. 'I can't wait to see how this case ends. I just have to keep Muirfield under wraps.' With that the two were rejoined and began collaborating on the landscape search.
