FLASHBACK

Seojun opened the door to find Yeonwoo standing behind it. "What are you doing here?" He asked roughly, startled by her appearance.

"I'm here for my brother."

"You just missed him. He just left for practice at the studio. But come in, if you want to wait for him."

Her eyes were like saucers as she scanned her eyes around Suho's apartment. "The rumours are true! Suho is really rich."

He couldn't help but laugh. "So you're just here to admire his apartment?"

She pursed her lip. "I'm here to deliver supplies to Seyeon." She lifted the basket she was holding, which carried extra clothes, pyjamas, skincare, and vitamin supplements. "And I wanted to see him. I can't believe he's spending another night at Suho's place. It's summer, aren't you guys supposed to be having fun?"

"Music is an art, it's the air we breathe." Suho spoke from the kitchen, while he was cooking ramen.

Yeonwoo—as usual—smiled shyly at the sight of the attractive genius. "Suho, you have a really nice house."

Suho wiped his hands on his apron, looking so adorably domestic that the tips of Yeonwoo's ears turned red. He asked her, "Are you staying for long? You should have some ramen if you're hungry."

"Yes please!" She hopped onto a stool and eagerly watched Suho doling out the steaming noodles into three separate bowls. He gave the first bowl to her, at which Seojun scowled.

"What about me? I'm hungry, I just spent three hours singing!" He whined petulantly.

Although Yeonwoo had known them for a few months now, she couldn't help but feel taken aback at his other persona. In public, he was the cool, collected, charismatic bad boy. But now, he was an utter marshmallow.

Suho, with his blank face, said devoid of emotion, "But the difference is, I don't like you. I like her."

Yeonwoo choked on her noodles. Seojun rushed to fill a glass with water from the fridge. When he was about to give it to her, Suho had already beat him to it, giving her his own cup of water.

She greedily gulped it down and wiping her mouth, whispered, "Thank you."

After they ate, Seyeon texted her that he would only be back around ten. Yeonwoo had set her heart so much on seeing him, she nearly burst into tears. She felt she hadn't seen him in ages.

"Can I stay over for a little while until I see him. Please?" She begged Suho.

Suho hesitated. This was something he would never get to understand. Yeonwoo had a twin, someone closer to her than anyone else could be. Even Seojun had a sister. But Suho had no-one to dote over and care for like a sibling. Perhaps the closest he would get is from sharing Yeonwoo with Seyeon—he hoped he wouldn't mind.

So, he relented.

At the coffee table, Yeonwoo did her maths homework. Occasionally, Suho abandoned his homework to help her with his. On the other hand, Seojun played games on his phone.

An hour later, Yeonwoo was finishing up the last question.

"Here."

She looked up to find Seojun holding out a bottle of mango milk to her. "You were working really hard. And Seyeon was saving it for you. He yelled at me for half an hour when I tried to take it secretly. I'm still surprised he can get that angry."

Seojun found her merely ten minutes later snoozing over her maths book. Her auburn hair was pooled around her head, fanning her face like a cloud. Her eyebrows were slightly furrowed, and she kept mumbling mathematics rules in her sleep.

In the bedroom, a section of Suho's cupboard was reserved for his and Seyeon's things. From his section, Seojun got out a daffodil-yellow blanket that had been his mother's birthday present for him.

He sat down and draped it over the shoulders of the sleeping girl.

Yeonwoo's eyes suddenly popped open, eliciting an uncharacteristic shriek from the Han boy. She raised her head, sleepily saying, "Where's the fire?"

"Nowhere. Nowhere?" His head spun left and right, looking anywhere but at her.

"Did you want to tell me something?"

"Y-Yes! I do!" He was very flustered, but somehow, he was able to salvage himself. "I know what your favourite colour is."

"Finally!" Yeonwoo's sleepy eyes lit up. "So, what is it?"

"Blue."

"And why would you say that?"

"You ... just look like blue?"

Yeonwoo made a buzzing noise. "Wrong! You're wrong and I win, so you have to grant me a wish. My favourite colour is yellow. I love this shade of yellow particularly. It reminds me of baby chicks."

"That's Seyeon's favourite colour too."

"Yeah. We're that similar, huh?" Yeonwoo's eyes danced in excitement, and Seojun had a hard time keeping a smile from stretching across his face.

From that day on, Seojun never forgot that her favourite colour was yellow.
