I would just like to say this story is not trying to romanticise war, or to try to take away the horror that happened in Dunkirk and WW2. I was simply interested in writing a Harry Potter WW2 AU for quite awhile, and then I saw Dunkirk and I decided write a fanfiction based on that. This story is not an attempt to turn a major part of history into a mere story. I am well aware that I can never capture Dunkirk or WW2, but I hope to be able to bring at least part of it to life. There won't be any magic or Hogwarts, simply the Harry Potter characters in a WW2 setting. I will try to keep the characterisation as close to cannon as possible. I really hope that this does not offend anyone, as that was not and never will be my intention.
Most of the information that I will use will be from things that I have learnt from school and things I have read online. So if I have made any mistakes I would be happy for you to tell me.
This is the first fanfiction I have written that will be dealing with such a sensitive topics. My other one is a Reacting fanfiction. If I do unintentionally offend someone I would love for that person to tell me, so that I can change as soon as possible.
Some of my lines might be inspired by lines from movies, shows or books, so I don't not take any credit for them
You do not have to have watched or read Harry Potter or Dunkirk to understand this story.
