It was a nerve racking day for you. Your best friend Sykkuno is introducing you to some of his friends and you are all playing valorant together. It is your best game but you are finding yourself getting anxious.
"Syk I'm nervous.." you text him.
"Don't be! You're the best valo player Ik! And I already know my friends will love you."
"Okay syk..I'm trusting you on this one."
"Good. Now join the discord call."
You join the call and hear a few people talking.
"Hey y/n!" Sykkuno says full of energy.
"Hi syk.." you say shyly.
The minute Rae hears your voice through her headphones her heart flutters a bit.
"Sykkunooooo?! Who's this?? WAIT IS THIS YOUR FRIEND THATS REALLY GOOD AT VALORANT?!"
"Yes Leslie. Now calm down before you scare her."
"Well hello y/n. I'm Toast. The yelling one is Leslie. And the one being surprisingly quiet is Rae." He says.
"It's nice to meet you all. Syk has told me all good things." You say quietly.
Rae on the other hand is still trying to process the girl on the other end of the call. Comments are flooding her chat asking who you are and if you stream or if Rae is okay.
"Guys thats y/n that's Sykkuno's friend. She's tagged on my Instagram story. And yes I'm fine guys thank you for asking." She says to her chat.
After talking for a bit you all log into the game and pick your agents. Not long after you guys find a match and it all begins. You guys win a ton but you also lose some. Right now the score is 12-12 and you're on the last round.
Leslie and toast get killed off pretty early so it's just you, Sykkuno and Rae in a 3v5. Not long after Sykkuno drops so it's you and Rae.
"You guys got this!!" Leslie almost screams at us. When she says that Rae gets shot. "Oh my gosh Y/n I'm so sorry this is my fault.." Rae says.
You don't say anything, you just focus on the game. You feel like you have to win this in order to fit in with all of them. This would just add to the thought of them not liking you. It scares you more than anything.
"Last player standing."
I carefully walk around to find where the other team is I find one and headshot them then go to find the next.
"Great job y/n!" Syk says giving you a little more confidence. There are two people on the other side of this wall. You turn quickly and kill the first person then camp the wall waiting for the other person to come to where you are.
"Shit we may win this.." toast says.
Rae is literally biting her nails terrified because she feels like she threw this not only for the team but for you.
The person comes as you expected and you shoot them down. Two more..you think to yourself. Just two more..
You walk a few more steps to see a guy standing there. "Thirty seconds left."
Shit..you think to yourself again. You need to find two more players, kill them and defuse it to win.
You shoot down the guy you see and the next one is sure to be coming to find you soon. At this point Rae is freaking out because she still feels like she failed you. "You got this y/n." The older girl manages to say. The world almost seem to be going in slow motion.
"Hey y/n. 50 gift subs when you join twitch if you clutch this." Sykkuno says.
"S-Syk you aren't helping with my anxiety right now.." you say feeling your chest tighten. A lot is riding on this. Not to mention 50 gift subs from your best friend.
"Y/n it's okay if you can't win this. It's just a game we can try again." Leslie says.
As she says that the guy turns the corner and you gun him down. He falls and Rae let's out a breath she didn't know she was holding. You quickly go to defuse it and victory is displayed across all of your screens.
"Oh Jesus y/n you did it! You're crazy!"
"Nice y/n. You're better than Sykkuno said you are!"Toast says.
"That was amazing Y/n. We all have to play valorant again after today." Leslie says making you smile.
"I'm so sorry y/n..I almost threw that for you.." Rae says making your heart nearly shatter into pieces.
"You don't need to apologize Rae. I did it still. When Syk said 50 gift subs I knew he meant business."
They all laugh.
"Yeah he's normally needing gift subs to pay his water bill." Rae says laughing which fills your stomach with butterflies.
You guys play a few more games and then decide to call it for the night. "Thank you for giving me a chance guys." You say softly.
"Anytime y/n. We are happy you joined us." You smile and you all say your goodbyes. You shut off your computer and then go to order some dinner through Uber eats. Chick-fil-a is sounding amazing right now. It tells you about 40 minutes so you decide to take a shower.

You on the other hand have changed into sweatpants and an oversized hoodie cuddling your dog, Wesley, and are now geeking out to Harry Potter reciting every spell when said. You're interrupted by the doorbell ringing. OOOOO FOOD!!
You go to the door and pay before taking your spot back on the couch. You had received a few texts from a number. You look to see that it's Rae.

I'm good just a little bored. Watching Harry Potter for like the millionth time with Wesley and eating Chick-Fil-A. Nothing too special.
