It's been two weeks since Tommy walked in on Wilbur in the bathroom. Dealing with the aftermath of the shock, he and Wilbur had the necessary conversations about trying to stop and talking to him, for god's sake. His pink-haired brother was told what happened in a hushed tone by his father when he walked in on him and Tommy talking about who was going to talk to him.
After about a week, they had to have the difficult discussion of what the hell happened to Tommy. Over the wooden dinner table, he had explained quietly about his parents, silence coming from the other three as they listened solemnly. Phil was completely mute, looking down at his hands sadly, Techno progressively growing to look flat out ready to murder someone, and Wilbur's face wet with angry tears. It was almost impossible to find the words to say anything at all, and heavy silence settled in the room after the youngest finished talking, the boy's face matching the brunette's, covered with salty tears. The brunet was the one to lift the quiet, gently asking his friend if he wanted to do anything about his situation, but he was met with insistence that no one can find out and he doesn't want anything to happen, he just doesn't want to go back to them. Silent concerned glances were shared between the family members about his emphasis on banking on their secrecy. Later, Wilbur took him aside and asked him about telling Tubbo, to which the reply of permission came; he told him later that day in a solemn discord call, silence falling in between every sentence, the words within bringing a melancholy blanket over both of the sides of the call. Tubbo was assured multiple times that it wasn't his fault he didn't notice, no one did, but he couldn't help feeling guilty.
Tommy started streaming again, after a break of almost a full month, Techno helping him with his makeup, somehow being surprisingly good at colour theory and covering blemishes. He'd gruffly explained that it came from having 3 younger sisters, 'who are a real pain in the ass when they want you to do their makeup', and his help was needed less and less as the bruises on his face healed gradually.
Wilbur's voice could be heard more and more through the ceiling above the upstairs hallway, singing melodically. The attic was somewhere he spent a lot of time recently. When Tommy asked about it, Phil assured him it was a good thing - apparently, ever since they moved here and he found that little room in the roof, he'd gradually transformed it into a beautiful, relaxing, safe space, taking candles and pillows in to make it feel even more cosy. If he asked you in there, it was a sign of absolute trust and love.
Tommy and Wilbur were healing. It was taking a while, and they were far from perfect, but they were healing. They were doing better.
