Why is no one talking? It's been already 4 minutes of silence. What the hell did I do to make them look like that? Kalon then sighed and opened his mouth.
- We don't know... You left a month ago and last week we found you in front of the house, half dead. Unconscious and completely covered in blood. Nobody saw you comming, it was a guard that discovered you.
His hand was touching his forehead as if he had a headache. The girls were sitting akwardly since, they too, didn't know what to say. Asteria then said.
- Before you left from the garden, I asked to come with you... But you looked at me with a reassuring smile that I couldn't understand and patted my head. Also you told me not this time...
- A smile you couldn't understand?
- There was something else in it. It just felt weird. You could say it did the opposite of comforting me. Then you just walked away. As you turned your expression became completely serious.
- I remember that day, you were different. Also you went in Kalon's office and stormed out looking kinda angry and extremely serious. Kal came out exasperated and told you to wait but you were already to the main door of the mansion. You two often have small arguments but this one...
Hera stopped talking when her eyes met Kalon's death glare. As if she spoke words she shouldn't have. Ah well whatever! The only lead I have would be this argument but will he tell me. He sighed... once again... Looked at the girls, he moved his head towards the door of the room, he moved his gaze from the girls to the door. The women got up and exited the lodge. He stared at me .
- I was bound to talk about it anyway.
If Asteria and Hera had to leave then it must have been important.
- That morning, you rushed in my office and started talking, almost yelling actually. I wasn't completely awake and you were talking real fast. The few words I could understand were danger, royal family and there's something wrong. When I asked you to repeat since I was not exactly there, Still a bit sleepy. You just got mad and said loudly "I have to find it before it's too late". Those words and the way you said it showed that it was really important. But you just walked quickly to the main entrance looking detressed and even scared. I saw from afar Asteria asking you something but you gave her a fake smile and dissapeared in the forest connected to the garden. Next thing I knew, you were in front of the knight training ground, at night ,dying.
While he was saying all of this, he showed a face full of regret. Like it was his fault. His hand were clenched together and were posed on his forehead. He started trembling. He looked like he was about to cry. My heart felt like it was being tighten. I didn't like seeing him like this. Yet I couldn't say anything. I don't even know why he was feeling like this. He faintly spoke a sentence with his trembling voice.
- If only I listened to you...
It was so quiet that I barely was able to hear. I just looked at him with a pained expression.
- It's ok, it look like it was my fault to begin with, don't cry...
Honestly, I had no idea what was going on. It was like apologizing on someone else behalf. It was akward saying words of comfort to someone I feel like knowing just for a few hours. When the man heard my words, he faintly smiled, a nostalgic one.
- Of course I won't. His eyes went back to mine. I mean... we promised when we were younger.
I had no idea what he was talking about but I gave him a smile. My puzzled face was easy to understand but he just ignored it. He still could'nt cope with the fact that the man he knew wasn't there for now.
- I will help you. Said Kalon looking at me straight in the eyes completely serious.
- Help me?
- To get back your memories, of course.
- Isn't it possible with magic anyway?
- You think we didn't try?
- You did? When?
He laughed a bit but in a mocking way. I kinda felt insulted.
- During your examination of course. When else.
Yeah it makes sense... Hate to admit it because of his smirking face. How was I even supposed to know. Anyway that's great. I was planning to learn about myself and trying to remember. Having someone coming with me is perfect.
- It's only going to be the two of us for now. We will focus on getting you back.
- That's fine with me.
He looked at the celling for around ten seconds and told me
- Well now I can't think of anything else to tell you. For now just walk around of the mansion, maybe it could help you. Unfortunatly, I won't be able to come with you since I have too much work.
He stood up and walked to the door. As he opened it, Kalon turned around and said in a happy voice.
- See ya later.
When the door closed, my eyes did the same. I just had way too much information to process. I opened one one of them and saw the huge books. No way, I will never read that. I got up decided. I will explore this mansion.
