I woke up with my surroundings that looked like I stepped into the 1950s! "This has got to be a dream," I said to myself. I closed my eyes super tight to see if I could wake up to our New York apartment, but when I opened my eyes, everything was the same. I made my way to the living room and looked in a mirror on the wall, and I saw that I was wearing a blue and white polka dot dress with a white lace apron. My shoes went from my usual white flats to tan-colored high heels, and my dark brown hair was in an elegant updo. I was a 1950s housewife! Just then, I felt a jolt, and a red haze filled my eyes. I wasn't sure what was happening, and all my awareness of the situation disappeared.

"Honey, I'm home!" I heard the voice of my husband, James Buchanan Barnes, come through the door. He was wearing a dark-colored business suit, and his long dark hair was now cut short and slicked back. He looked handsome! "Hello dear, how was work?" I was in the kitchen cooking dinner for us. Our son, Anthony, was on his way home from school. "It was long, but I couldn't stop thinking about my beautiful lady." he leaned over the counter and kissed me. "Same to you, darling." I smiled and felt my face turn red. It's nice to know we're still very much in love after being married for six years, and it was the most comforting feeling. He smiled, and we waltzed about the kitchen like a prince and princess. "What's for dinner?" "Steak and potatoes," I replied like a magician revealing a trick. "Sounds delicious." he smiled and kissed me. Right on cue, Anthony came running through the door, his shaggy dark hair bouncing against his head. "Mommy! Daddy! Guess what? I played baseball with my pals, and I hit a home run! The ball flew out of the field!" "Well done, sport!" Bucky ruffled Anthony's hair, and our son gleamed with pride. "That's wonderful, Anthony. It sounds like you had an exciting day!" I kissed him on the forehead. "Aw, Mom!" He giggled and wiped his forehead. I chuckled at the humor of our son. "Hey, Mom?" he inquired. "Yes, dear?" I replied while Bucky and I set the table. "Could you help me with this math problem? I don't understand it." he pulled out a paper of addition problems from his school bag. "Of course." I helped him with his homework before we had dinner as a family.

As we were eating dinner, we were happily talking about our days, when suddenly there was a knock at the door; I got to answer it, and I saw an unexpected visitor, Wanda Maximoff.
