EP release

we are gonna pretend
1. no drama whatsoever
2. the ep came out for him around the same time the music video did.
and 3. this is not 2 weeks late , i apologize

"y/n"
"josh?"

No response
"josh? hello?"

Y/n walks into joshuas extra room in his studio. It is the day of his EP release and you had decided to take work off and support him through it.

"you okay?"
"uh i think?"

"what's wrong?" you ask rolling a chair over to him as he stares at his open laptop. About an hour before his ep release, and his 'Telling Myself' music video.
" i just got nervous all of sudden"

"hey that's normal it's okay"

"what if they absolutely hate it?"

"oh please, josh you don't even know the talent you have. But if in a another world they somehow hate it, i'll support you through everything." he slips his hand in yours and squeezes it in thank you.

"thank you" he mumbles.
"i'm always here joshy don't you forget that"

He leans his head on your shoulder and sighs.
"i've had these songs ready for ages, i-i thought i've always been so ready to release them.. but now.." he trails off.

Instead of responding you grab his head from your shoulder and twist his chair to face you. Resting your forehead against his, you whisper "do you wanna cuddle?"
"yes please" he pouts.

After both  getting comfortable in bed,  josh laying on his back and y/n on his shoulder. His arm wrapped around her waist and her arm around his waist.

He lets out a sigh.
"better?"
"much, thank you y/n for everything"

"your welcome" josh squeezes her harder in response.

Time skip

"Josh 10 mins!!" y/n screams as she jumps around the apartment.
"i can finally listen to these songs on spotify and not on voice memos!! let's goo!"
Josh's laugh filled the apartment.

"I cant believe this ep is finally out!" josh says.
"i still remember when i heard you record it for the first time"
"yeah and you spilled your coffee all over the studio" he says holding back a laugh.
"oh shut up!"

*Flashback*

"are you ready josh?" the producer asks.
He shoots a thumbs up and he smiles.
"okay in 3..2..1.. "(icarly theme music okay sorry)

the back track starts and josh starts singing the main vocals.

It's been six weeks since we said our goodbyes
But I can't forget what was
So excuse the mess I made when you were mine
I'm still learning how to love...
(i know that you know all the lyrics)

Y/n sits there in complete awe. She's heard him sing countless amount of times, but she is always blown away by the sheer talent in his voice and how much it grows every time.

I couldn't blame you for putting yourself first
But I'm not afraid to say something first, even if it hurts
I'd need you to know...

The bridge. Josh never let y/n hear the bridge til right now.

"oh my god" she says in awe.
Looking up at him in the studio, she doesn't notice as her coffee slips out her her hands.

"SHI-"
"STOP! y/n are you okay??" the producer says as he rushes over.
Josh stops singing and looks up in a panic.

"what happened??!" josh ask concern in his voice, but it's muffled from him being in the studio.
"All good!" the producer yells as he helps y/n up to her feet.

Josh in a panic scatters outside the studio and into the room.
He quickly wraps his arms around her and looks her up and down.
"what happened? are you hurt?"
"josh i'm okay.. but you are stepping in my coffee"
"what?" he looks down and sees the spilt coffee cup by his feet.

"i'm sorry"
"hey it's okay, i'm just glad your not hurt"
"but i ruined your recording"

Josh laughs, "it's okay we can always redo it"
Y/n smiles.
"uh can you move a bit tho? i don't really like the feeling of coffee on my feet"

*End flashback*

Josh grins at her as his phone rings.

"hey chelsea!"
"josh! 5 minutes until your premiere! get onto youtube!"
"i'm on it!"
"hey chelsea!" y/n smiles

"oh hi y/n! how is josh doing?"
"i mean he was nervous before but i think he's okay"
"great, i gotta go prepare some stuff, i'll call you guys later."
"okay bye chelsea."

Time skip

"it's happening!"
"i love this music video so much omg"
"i'm glad you were in it" josh smiles.
"the fans are actually gonna go crazy with that, there were some steamy scenes in 'telling myself'"

Before josh can react the timer for the premiere starts.

"thank you y/n"
"for?"
"being here, supporting me"

"i'll always be here josh, just don't forget me when your at the Grammys."

"oh please, you'd be there first i thank, plus i could keep forget you" he smiles as leans in for a kiss as the music video starts.

sorry for the late and short update :(
i've been really out of writing lately and just couldn't find the motivation. it seemed more like a thing i needed to do than i think i wanted to do? if that make sense. i'm getting back into it and writing stuff i want too.
