Chapter Two: The Stargazers

"And make sure to tell Axel he'd better be there, or else." Mason told his communications officer, a quaint little protogen named Renaissance. The rainbow colored protogen carefully relayed his message, though it'd take about a day to reach any civilization.

Due to the vastness of space, every few million miles or so they had set up little beacons to transmit these messages. Renaissance himself was one of the few able to access them without the need for a terminal, but even still, it'd take a long while, even with the reality-warping properties of Boson Energy.

The communications room was situated just below the captains' quarters, in fact, it was right below it. It was an ovular room stocked with many different computers and processors, all of which were under the direct command of Renaissance.

Renaissance was one of Mason's weirdest creations. He was almost completely inorganic, save for his brain, and a few internal structures. However, most of his exterior body was taken up by a rainbow mish-mash of fur.

Renaissance turned his white visor over to Mason, "Centrium-9 is geared for a rendezvous point. Axel is currently fifteen light-years from that Home-Planet, but he should be there in time for us to meet up."

"Thanks." Mason whispered to the officer, who did a small bow before returning to his systems and dials. Mason returned to the hallway, not knowing explicitly what else he had to do. Everything was running smoothly, a well oiled machine.

Mason smiled for a brief time, before he heard the comms room open once again. Mason turned around, expecting Renaissance to tell him that he'd received word, somehow, that Axel was already there. Instead, he was met with a rather tentative Renaissance.

"I've just received word from a refugee planet some thirteen light-years back. They had just taken in over fifteen thousand Mosomarians from a neighboring system. They are talking about a planet being overrun. The Stargazer sector." Renaissance stated.

Mason frowned deeply, quickly dismissing his communications officer to rely that they'll be there shortly. He rushed down the hallway, thinking that this might be their chance at catching a faux-God, finally.

Planet's being overrun had been a huge issue ever since The Tragedy. Ever since the first B-Series captain unleashed the new stream of Green-Boson Energy. Dark entities made from shadow and blood had been appearing in distant galaxies, overrunning the planets and leaving it an inhospitable waste.

They were pattern-screamers. Creatures made of pure Boson Energy, given life through the expulsion of Green-Boson. They had encountered pattern-screamers made from photons, a few hordes made from metal and earth, and one made out of solid air.

But, they had never managed to keep one alive, and the few times they managed to get to a system before it was destroyed, they disappeared once the deed was done, and they wouldn't just allow them to take them. They'd fight, and they'd fight hard.

Mason arrived at the Captain's chair room. Two protogen stood upright as entered, his navigations and shields officers, Nebula and Aberration respectively, "Nebula, steer a course for the Stargazer sector." Mason told her quickly.

Nebula didn't question the command, quickly rooting herself back into her seat to begin the process. Mason then turned to Aberration, "Start up the Boson generators. We need to get there as quickly as possible."

Again, Aberration did as he was told, settling down into his seat to power up the shields. Not a second later did Mason get into his seat, and connected himself to the ship's mainframe. A sharp pain ran up his spine as he did so, alerting him that it worked successfully.
