dear people who are careless with their words,

The f-slur! I'm sure that, while roaming the halls of your schools, you've heard it used more than once. It's a hurtful, harmful slur, and obviously you shouldn't use it if you aren't queer.

Let's talk about the origin of the f-slur... There are varying opinions on where and when it was first used in regards to gay people. Some popular opinions include that the word comes from the term used when younger boys performed services for older boys at boarding schools, or the urban legend that the f-slur means a bundle of sticks and is thus related to the stake burnings of gay people.

No matter where it originated, it's still a slur that you shouldn't use!! It truly only serves to make gay people feel unsafe in their environment, so why use it? You can keep from hurting people and possibly contributing negatively to their mental health and will to live just by keeping your mouth shut! There are plenty of other insults to use, so stop calling people f*gs.

Plus, "gay" isn't an insult-- the gays stay winning ✨
