I was really regretting my decision as I pounded down the stairs to meet Cain. Ace hadn't followed and I was grateful that he was keeping his distance yet I couldn't shake the feeling it wouldn't be for long. I shook my head angrily, I was angry that I'd let him convince me so easily. I already knew that Axel would pick up on the tension between us and he'd be able to piece it all together, I didn't want my brother to know that I'd kissed the president of the club.

I pushed open the last door and revelled in the fresh air, being with Ace made me feel as though I couldn't breathe sometimes. I huffed before storming over to Cain who was oblivious to my arrival, I pulled on the handle and when I looked into the car I realised that it wasn't Cain sat in the drivers seat. My eyes widened in fear and my heart beat wildly at the man that smirked wickedly at me.

He was a large bald man with the a massive bushy beard, he was covered in tattoos from head to toe and I was paralysed with fear. My eyes instantly zoned in on the bold tattoo upon his left arm, it was the Rebels branding. It felt as if my hand was glued to the handle of the door and I just couldn't move, I was frozen in fear. It felt like forever before I could control my body once more but it was a little too late as he leapt across the front seats.

I yelped and fell back onto my bottom as the door smacked me in my face. I could feel the blood dribble from my nose and I instinctively brought my hands to cradle it, the blood seeping through the gaps in my fingers. "There you are you little bitch!" He growled, his hands thrusted into my hair. I screamed as he pulled me to my feet roughly, I moved my hands to try and scratch at his fingers but it only caused him to grab on tighter.

Hot tears mixed in with my blood as I sobbed and begged for him to let me go. "You think we'd forget what you did?" My mind raced, I'd never seen this man before in my life and I couldn't think of anything that I'd done to him. He pulled my face back before spitting in my face, he slammed my face down onto the wind mirror. The sheer force of this movement caused the mirror to drop to the floor in shards and I could feel some sticking into my face.

I inhaled deeply as my lungs began to burn as I struggled to catch my breath. I choked on my own blood as the man dragged me around like a rag doll, my strength had completely diminished and I was left to the mercy of this man completely. I screamed yet it sounded quiet and I knew no one would be able to hear me, even if someone did come to save me they'd take one look at his leather jacket and look the other way.

The man was shouting yet I couldn't understand a word he was saying, all I could hear was a loud piercing noise and I was too focused on my breathing to want to pay attention to him. Right now wasn't a good time to have a asthma attack and I knew I'd dropped my bag by the truck which was a few feet away. He'd dragged me towards my apartment building, the gravel cutting at my ankles and ripping holes in my jeans, when I noticed a bloodied Cain crawling around the truck.

"Let her go!" He shouted, his presence reigned in my panic and it was as if the world had returned to normal. I could hear everything clearly and could almost see clearly too. The man halted clearly surprised that Cain was now pulling himself to his feet. "I've already called for back up, drop her or die!"

The man chuckled loudly, the sound was maniacal and I cringed away. He dropped me roughly and I thudded to the ground, gasping for air. My throat felt raw and my chest was in raw agony. "Cain!" I cried out croakily, trying to push myself into a sitting position. Cain was reaching into the bed of the truck as the man quickly approached him and I could felt my heart beating even quicker, I needed to help him.

The man was within arms distance of Cain but was soon knocked to the ground as Cain smacked him round the face with a crowbar. The man dropped to the ground heavily but this didn't stop Cain as he brought the crowbar over his head and back down onto the unruly biker. I let my head fall back onto the hard pavement as exhaustion began to take over, my eyes were full of tears but I didn't care. I couldn't breathe, but I didn't care. I was so tired.

I closed my eyes for what felt like a few seconds but as Axel patted my face and they fluttered opened I saw the concerned faces of the Inferno Kings. "Inhaler." I gasped.

"Help me get her up." Axel cried, I could see the tear tracks down his cheeks as a fresh set filled his blue eyes making them look even more somber. Ace was by his side in a flash both of them propping me up against the wall. Axel thrust the inhaler between my lips commanding me to breathe and it wasn't before long that I could feel my body return to normal.

"Cain?" I croaked, my eyes filling with tears at the memory of his bloodied face as he attacked the rebel in my defence. As I brought my hand up to my face I hissed in pain, my own face felt as if it were on fire and I flinched as Axel pushed a stray strand of hair behind my ear.

"He's okay." He whispered, his eyes trained solely on me. "He's on his way back to the clubhouse." I sighed, leaning back against the wall and closed my eyes as the tears began to fall. Axel pulled me against him and I sobbed into his shoulder, not caring that his club members surrounded us. I pulled away as the salt from my tears began to sting the obvious marks on my face.

"Happy birthday to me?" I joked half/heartedly and Axel smiled at me sympathetically yet I could almost see the silent I told you so begging to be whispered from his lips.

"We need to get her out of here, she needs to be looked at." Ace spoke finally, I looked up at him and he wore a grim expression. His mouth was drawn into a thin line and he wore a scowl. He offered me his hand and I took it. With the help of Ace and Axel I was pulled to my feet and I looked at the people that surrounded us. Gunner, Jimmy, Diesel, Mac, Milo and even John, Tahlias father was here.

"You okay kid?" John asked, his eyes were ablaze with fury yet I could see the concern etched into his features. I nodded even though I knew I wasn't, I didn't know if I'd ever be okay again.

"John, Mac and Milo head back to the clubhouse." Ace commanded, pointing at the three. "You tell everyone what's happened today, we're going into a full lockdown and it's serious this time. No exceptions." When he said no exceptions he glanced down at me and I rolled my eyes, so that means no work and definitely no college.

"If it's a war they're after, then a war they'll get." He announced, the men grunted in agreement before the three nodded at me and left. "Jimmy, Diesel and Gunner round up the rest of the kings, call everyone we need this finished. The Calvary is coming. Get a few of the guys to meet Axel and I at the hospital. Ava isn't to be left alone." The men nodded before retreating in the direction the others had gone.

I heard the growls of their Harleys before they changed into loud roars as they left to follow the instructions of their president.

"Let's get you to the hospital."
