I woke up to the sound of my bathroom light being flicked on and I realised how cold I was, I rolled over hoping to find Ronan but found an empty bed instead. I shot up, panic lacing through me at the thought of him not waking me up to say another goodbye to Cain. Ronan was already stood at the end of my bed, holding my clothes for me. "I was going to let you have another five minutes." He whispered and I looked towards the blinds. It was brightening up outside but only just and I wondered what time it was. "Get up sleepy head we need to go see Cain."
Considering the circumstances I hadn't expected him to be so chipper but I was grateful that he was, it seemed to wear off on me and make me feel a bit more relaxed. He handed me my clothes, sitting on the end of my bed to put his boots on. "Where did you get your clothes from?" I asked through a yawn, throwing my covers back. He glanced over his shoulder, his hands still by his feet as he did his laces.
"I always have spares here from when I used to have to stay over and watch Noah for Sierra." He explained, standing up and stretching. I tried not to ogle at the strip of skin on his stomach that was now showing from how he'd moved. I quickly focused on my clothes before I could get too distracted.
"I'm gonna go dressed." I mumbled, trying to to slip past him but he stopped me. His hands were on my shoulders, keeping me in place and I looked up at him through my lashes. His one hand moved from my shoulder, the knuckle of his finger pressed against the bottom of my chin to lift my face as he leaned down. I realised he was trying to kiss me and I took a step back, mortified that he was going to kiss me before I'd even brushed my teeth.
"What?"
"I haven't brushed my teeth, my breath probably stinks." I told him, resisting the urge to cover my mouth. He chuckled.
"C'mere." This time he wrapped his arm around my back so that I couldn't escape. I giggled as I tried to pull back, leaning away as he peppered kisses to my neck. "I don't care how stinky your breath is Ava just give me my good morning kiss." I sighed jokingly before finally giving in. He made a point of kissing me deeply before nipping at my bottom lip, making me gasp in surprise and took the opportunity to slip his tongue inside of my mouth. I tried to resist but he's hand squeezed my waist and I melted into him.
He pulled away with a smirk on his face before taking a large step away and holding his hand out towards the door. "Now you can go." I couldn't fight the smile from my face as I hobbled towards the door. I'd noticed within the last week that my cast was quite sturdy to walk on and I barely ever used my crutches at home although I'm sure I noticed some cracks which probably meant I should stop.
Ronan had picked out a comfortable pair of leggings and an oversized jumper, he'd even put some socks on the pile for me even though I could only wear one. I got dressed quickly not wanting to waste time and when I opened the door Ronan was sat on the end of my bed, typing away on his phone with my crutches balanced between his legs. He looked up, a brilliant smile lighting up his face that only made me do the same. "You ready?" I nodded, taking my crutches from him.
The house was deadly quiet, both Sierra and Noah still fast asleep. I could hear his snores as I passed by his bedroom and if I hadn't wanted to get to the hospital so quickly I'd of poked my head in to look at him. Ronan and I had made it to the truck without waking either of them up. Strangely I was thinking about telling Sierra about Ronan and I, which I found odd at a time like the present but after spending another night with him I realised I wanted it every night. I glanced at Ronan who was focused on the road ahead.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" He asked without even looking at me and I chuckled, of course he knew I was looking at him. "What are you thinking about?"
I averted my eyes, looking out of the window beside me. "I want to tell Sierra and Noah about us." I told him, still watching the outside.
"Let's do it." He instantly agreed, his hand closing over mine and I looked at him. He was smiling at me again and I returned it just like I always did.
