some flowers
are colored like a sunset
for they will die just as quickly
a fleeting beauty
in how their petals fall
some flowers are colored blue
how melancholy
others colored green for envy
but it is the red flowers that suffer
all roses start out white
the world left some that way
but picked some others
to paint with blood
she was one of those roses
