Blessed are ye when men shall revile you and persecute you and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Honestly this is one of my favourite verses and I think it should be a go- to verse for every Christian.
As a Christian, it's normal for you to be persecuted and made fun of. The fact is, this world never liked Jesus, so as a Christian you can't expect to be loved by the world.
There were times when I was made fun of because of my beliefs. I lost people I thought were my friends because I refused to go to that party, or wear that dress or gossip about that girl.
I used to get really down until one day I was reading my Bible and stumbled upon this scripture.
I believe it was God speaking to me and telling me that it is a blessing to be persecuted for His sake. This gave me so much motivation and reassurance.
Now, everytime someone makes fun of me for being a Christian, I count is as a blessing and leave with a wide smile on my face. Their words don't hurt anymore because I already know that as a child of God, I am bound to get hate because I don't belong to this world.
