Jade pov

"Calum?" I mumbled, my voice muffled because my head was buried into his chest.

"Mornin." he chuckled lightly, not even bothering to loosen his tight grip around me.

"Thanks for picking me up last night." I mumbled, cuddling deeper into his chest. He laughed lightly and tightened his grip on me.

"Anything for you." he whispered. "Hey Jade?"

"Yeah?" I asked.

"I really need to talk to you about something-"

He was interrupted by my phone ringing from the nightstand. I gave him an apologetic look, then rolled over and answered it once I saw it was Carter. I didn't even say anything before he shouted in my ear.

"Get your lazy ass out of bed, we're going out!" he yelled. I winced at the loudness, then brought the phone back up to my ear.

"Carter-"

"You aren't making an excuse, Abby and I will be there in 10. Get dressed!" he yelled, then hung up the phone before I could say anything more. Great. Carter always has bad timing.

"I'm really sorry Calum. Carter and Abby are on their way, and I don't think Abby would be too pleased if you two saw each other." I sighed, pulling on some skinny jeans over my underwear.

Without saying another word, I rushed out of my room and down the stairs, grabbing a banana and flipping on the TV to wait for Carter and Abby. I was about to change the channel, when something caught my eye.

"International superstar Calum Hood was spotted at the mall last Saturday, with a girl. Many of his fans have been outraged, as seen on Twitter, and want to know who this mysterious girl is. Photos of him and the girl have been taken around town, and one specific one inside the mall, of Calum kissing her cheek. Is it love?" the news anchor asked, and I rolled my eyes.

Hate on Twitter? Calum didn't tell me about any hate on Twitter, and I didn't have a Twitter, so I didn't really have to worry. But I couldn't believe his fans hated me so much, it was actually kinda scary.

"Turn that off, you don't need to be watching this bullshit." Calum emerged from the stairs and swiped the remote from my hands, shutting off the TV.

"You didn't tell me about any hate on Twitter." I crossed my arms over my chest and stared at him.

"It's not worth mentioning. Some fans are just... crazy." Calum shrugged.

"But I at least thought you would tell me-"

The doorbell rang, stopping me from getting too angry with Calum. I sighed and pushed past him to get the door, allowing Carter to enter the house.

"Abby's waiting in the car, are you ready to go?" Carter asked.

"Yeah, just let me grab my phone." I mumbled, leading him into the living room.

"Hey Calum, long time no see. How ya been, mate?" Carter asked, holding out his hand for Calum to shake.

"Good. And you?" Calum asked.

"Good." Carter nodded. Both of their attempts at small talk were very, very bad. I grabbed my phone quickly and practically pulled Carter out of my house.

"I'll see you later, Calum." I waved without turning around.

"Jade, I really need to talk to you. Call me later?" he yelled from the doorstep.

"Okay." I hollered. "And put some damn pants on!"

I heard Calum chuckle from the doorway, then I climbed into Carter's car. "Hey Abby." I smiled to her.
