"I was in hopes of seeing you again." is what I unsurely tell him before looking down. I feel embarrassed now that I've said it out loud. Why did I mention it anyways. Mark probably thinks I'm weird. But whatever..
He just looks at me with a playful smirk.

Mark then offers to take me home. "Could I take you home? There's some drunkards out here somewhere. It would bother me if something happened to you." He said in a cocky way. I accept it 'cause I trust him. And yes, I don't really know him but my gut tells me he means no harm. "Well, I wouldn't mind some company."

We walked in silence, it wasn't awkward tho. It was that calming kind, where you both are just relaxingly quiet and enjoy the silence. He seems so chill and different, I like it.

I see Mark smiling to himself and gotta say he looks way better when he smiles. I decide to speak up, "You really should smile more." Mark asks me confused, "Why?"

"You seem happy when you smile. Don't you wanna be happy?" I question him. He looks away, then frowns. "It's not like I can choose." A sigh can be heard from him. "What? Of course, you can! Or is something stopping you?"

He gets awfully quiet and slowly stops walking. Maybe I shouldn't have brought it up. Mark looks hurt and clearly he has tried to hide it. What have I done.. "Mark, i'm sorry I shouldn't have-" I don't even get a chance to complete my sentence when he interrupts me.
"It's not your fault, so you're good." he smiles and nods while he looks at me. How can he be so understanding and calm about it. "By the way, can I get your number? We could hang out, ya know." Mark wants my number? Of courseee. But he wouldn't actually want to hang out with me, right? "Yes, totally."

We walked a while. I realize we are already at my house. We say our goodnights. I walk towards the few stairs. My leg slips as it was at the edge on one of the stairs. I fall to the ground with my butt now hurting. "Oh my god, you good?" I hear a worried tone.

Mark.

He kneels in front of me and looks at me in the eyes. "I'm great. It's just that my butt hurts." I laugh out loud. Mark bursts out laughing as well. "I know I shouldn't laugh but that was pretty funny." He holds his stomach and falls on his butt too. "I know"

We laugh it off for a little bit until it was time to go to sleep.

I didn't think Mark would see me falling on my ass. Was he still watching me to make sure I got home safe? I don't know, at least I got him laughing.
