I slipped on my favourite pair of Forest Green Vans and my split green and white hoodie, and opened up the rusty, old window, hoped out onto the ladder and climbed down. The air was fresh and breezy. I put in my Air Pods, the cool wind whipping against my face,  and started walking to the nearest bus stop to meet one of my best friends.

I finally saw him sat next to the bus shelter.

" Hey Nick what are you doing sat on the ground, there's a perfectly fine seat next to up you"

"Hey Hey Hey what's up man long time no see, honestly just wanted to sit here, what you gonna do about it"

We both laughed for a moment before a long pause

"So... now what are we gonna do?" I said, breaking the comfortable, but unusual, silence. We were always making jokes or just talking in general, so it was strange.

"No clue, we have our finals tomorrow so I thing we should just grab our skateboards and then we could go to the park or our houses."

"Good idea wanna head to mine or your house first." I questioned.

"Probably yours mate, it's a lot closer than mine."

Me and Nick both got up  and started walking to my house. We didn't talk much but I didn't blame him it looked like he hadn't gotten sleep in a while.

After about a ten minute walk of hushed cars in the distance, we arrived at my house.

"Welcome to my humble abode." I chuckled, Nick laughing along with me.                                             I proceeded to open my garage door and pull out my long green skateboard.

"What is it with you and green ?" Nick questioned, looking at my outfit, which consisted of a thin green and white sweatshirt, a pale, blue pair of denim jeans, a lime button up with the collar hanging out and my vans.

"No idea, to be honest, I just like the look of the colour and I think it suits me," I spit out. "Anyways if you want to go around the estate then let's get a-"

"Clay smith, Nick Armstrong" an all too familiar female voice said "What brings you two here?" She interrupted, her tone mocking our every movements and decisions.

My sister stood, arms crossed and tapping her foot against the floor, in the doorway.

"Drista, dear what are you doing?"

"Nothing Mom, Nick and clay are sneaking." She replied angelically, sounding nothing like the devil she was a minute ago.

"Oh alright dear, can I come down and see Nick"

Her voice went from really loud to quite and Loving in a matter of moments

"H-hi Mrs Smiths it's nice to s-see you again"

Nick sounded quite scared as he stuttered his words

"Right, clay, lets go?" Nick replied gesturing at the boards resting against the baby blue wall of my hallway.

I waved goodbye to my family and headed out with Nick.

"Come on Clay, you have to get up early tomorrow I would recommend you hit the hay now so you don't regret it tomorrow"

"Alright mom I'll see ya in the morning"

I walked up to my room and lay my head on the soft, green pillow and tried my best to get some rest. I looked at my clock one more time.

"12:44" "ok that's fine... 8 hours of sleep... that's good enough"
