Minx

Days went into weeks as weeks went into months. The club handled things with the Road Destroyers. Hound had passed away from an infection that started with the gunshot wound from Mason. As the police tried looking for the shooter, no one spoke a word about Mason pulling the trigger. So the club became busy with runs and other shit that they do while every few days Bjørn would spend the night at my place. We knew that keeping our relationship a secret from everyone would cause a lot of shit. There had been many times that we questioned ourselves but it came down to us being there for each other.

I knew Bjørn hated going behind his presidents back and I could see it in his eyes lately and that meant I needed to talk with Mason.

I sighed when I parked the car in the compound, I could feel eyes on me before I even stepped out of the car. Mason was already walking over to me as he lit a cigarette. "Hey, I thought you were working today. Is everything okay?" He asked me when he got to me.

"Ah... Yeah, I'm on my break. I need to talk to you about something" I told him, I looked over at the garage and saw Bjørn looking over at us.

"Okay… is it important?" I nodded my head to his question. "Okay, we can go to the garage's office," he said, I followed behind him as he made his way over to the small office on the side of the garage. Mason put his cigarette out just before he walked inside, he closed the door while I took a seat on the small couch. My hands were sweating and I had to keep rubbing them on my jeans. "What's up, sis?" Mason asked when he took a seat in the office chair.

"I…" I sighed "There is no other way to say this but… I'm seeing someone"

“That’s great but why do you look nervous? Has he done something to you?” He asked but I quickly shook my head no.

“No no none of that.”

“Good, I want to meet him though,” he said and that made me bite my lip.

“You already have” I mumbled. Mason looked at me confused.

“What are you talking about? Who is he?” He leans forward in the chair. I looked down at my clenched fists, they were hurting as my knuckles turned white. “Minx... who is it?”

I looked across the room at my brother “I’m seeing Bjørn…”

“Bjørn…” he leans back in his chair. “As in Cerberus… my enforcer…” I licked my lips and nodded my head. I watched as Mason ran his thumb over his tight jaw as he gave nothing away as he sat there, looking across the room. Mason always had a good poker face.

One minute we were sitting in silence and the next Mason was up. He had pushed his chair backwards, making it fall on the floor and storming out the door. “Shit” I mumbled as I ran after my brother, he was heading towards the open garages and I knew who exactly he was looking for.

“Your fucking my sister” Mason growled out as he grabbed Bjørn by his work shirt, slamming him up against the lockers. My eyes started to sting with tears. Everyone in the garage had gone silent, watching everything unfold.

“Get off him, Mason!”  I yelled out, I tried to pull him away from Bjørn but Mason pushed me away from him. I tripped over a metal car Jack and slammed the back of my head into the wall. Everything went black for a few moments before I heard someone call my name. I saw Books kneeling down beside me, I blinked a few times before looking around confused for a bit.

“Easy girl” Books told me as I tried to sit up. My hand reached for the back of my head making me gasp, I pulled my hand back to see blood. From the corner of my eye, I saw Mason and Bjørn throwing punch after punch at each other. I was confused at why they were fighting.

“What… what happened? Why… why are they fighting?” I asked for Books.

“Shit…” I looked at Books as he pulled out his phone. “Ambulance please.”

I was loaded into the back of the ambulance and taken straight to the hospital. For hours I sat in the ER waiting for doctors to give me the results for the scans that they did. I knew something happened because I only remembered pulling into the compound.

I had 10 stitches in the back of my head and I had a huge headache. I tried to remember everything but it was all black. It was late afternoon when Books came into the room, he had come with me to keep me company.

“How are you feeling?” He asked me once he took a seat after giving me a bottle of water.

“I’m okay… just want to remember”

“I’m sure you will,” he said.

“Is Mason coming?” I asked Books but he looked down at the floor and shook his head no. “Why not?”

“Ah, he said he has club business to deal with” he rubbed his neck

“Did it have anything to do with Cerberus… I saw them fighting…”

“I’m not sure Minx” he mumbled before drinking from his soda can. I sighed, placing my water bottle on the table and rolled over, facing away from the biker.

A few days later I was released from the hospital, Ripley had come and picked me up. As we sat in the car I kept looking at my phone waiting for Bjørn to reply back. It had been two days since I bumped my head and the doctors wanted me to stay home for a least a week before I returned back to work.

“I’m sure they are just busy,” Ripley said as she helped me inside my apartment but I just couldn’t help but feel something was wrong.

“Maybe” I mumbled.

For hours as I laid on the couch alone in my apartment, my eyes kept looking at the phone that sat on the coffee table in front of me. I couldn’t take it anymore, I grabbed the phone and called Bjørn. He declined the call so when I called him again he finally answered.

“Bjørn? Hello?”

I’m sorry Minx…  but we can no longer be together…”

“What…? Bjørn, wait, what are you talking about?”

Please don’t make this a hassle… I don’t want to be together again… I’m sorry” before I could say anything, he hung up. I stared at my phone with tears running down my cheeks. As I wiped them away I closed my eyes and started to slowly remember what happened a few days ago.

Telling Mason I was seeing someone...

Telling him who it was…

Watching Mason storm out of the office and holding Bjørn against the lockers…

I tried pulling Mason off him and then everything went black…

“Oh no…” I mumbled to myself. I called for a taxi and grabbed my jacket and keys before locking my place. Once I was in the taxi, I told the driver where I needed to go. Ten minutes later, I paid the taxi driver and climbed out of the car. When I walked into the compound I saw the guys bikes lined up in a row but one… Bjørn’s bike wasn’t there.

I grabbed the door handle to the clubhouse and walked inside, the chatter and laughter became silent when people saw who had walked in. Mason sat with Skinhead and Grizzly at a table while others stood at the pool table or the bar.

“We need to talk…”
