After a long day's work, you can finally say that it's time to go back home where your sanity lies. Working a full day job at Monday to Friday, isn't always to be easy. Sure you knew your way into a computer and how to handle some other stuff they needed, but that doesn't mean that you don't get bored and sick of the repetitive tasks your work came with.

Slinging your bag onto your shoulders, you immediately got to your car and headed home. Various vehicles could be seen in the bustling streets as well as the brightly lit buildings, making it seem like it's not even night anymore. The indistinct noises were blurred by the car windows, making the faint blares of your radio being the only source of clear sounds you could hear

Finally arriving at your apartment, you slam opened your door and kicked off your shoes, as well as throw your bag on your couch. You changed into more comfy clothing and set up your pc along with your gaming set up, the snacks being the only things missing for an all-night gaming grind

You opened a cupboard filled with chips, chocolate and various foods, as well as some candies and non refrigerated drinks. You scooped them all into your arms and dunked them to a table near your desk and called it done.

Being a not-so-closeted gamer, the weekends were really the only time you could play all you want. You had various games to play, as well as social media platforms you had to handle. Having to posts regular updates on your skills and rankings, along some other achievements here and there. You were also mostly known for the guts you had to challenge certain players for their positions and titles in a lot of games you had played before

This week, you were set to kick a certain player out of their high rank as it was your time to reign. It was in a MMORPG world where you could do basically anything; join a guild, get pets, build a house, you name it, and it's there. Although this game is great with the amount of content it brings, professional gamers and veterans insisted their way into a very competitive ranking system which made the game blow up even more. The game was now known for the people in the leaderboards and the prizes you could get if you were in it. The moment you knew people were now doing this, let's just say you had to take a few more hours out of your sleeping schedule just for it

After the sacrifice of your sleep, it didn't take long for you to make it into the top ten leaderboards in all of Tokyo. You had a goal set before you had joined this frenzy in the game, and that was to make it up to rank one. It might seem like a fever dream but you were damn sure you would work your ass off for it

There was a popular player named TARUCHI who held the ranking that you had wanted. Every time you took a step forward, he will take two, or even five at a time. Your ranking in the leaderboards didn't change from the top two position just yet because of him. The top three and below ranks would change once in a few weeks or so, while yours and TARUCHI stayed the same

You always find him streaming his gameplays with no mic nor a camera during the times you would play too. It was actually infuriating that he can play all he want without being worried about his throne but your going to kick him out of it and claim your glory

Clicking the keyboard rapidly while your other hand moves the mouse, you did a final combo and defeated the enemy. You sighed stretching your arms back before taking a look of what you got from the fight. You saw the title screen change into a congratulatory message with the rank of number one be attached to your name.

You couldn't believe it, at the most random time, you finally got it! You stood up with your headphones on and jumped around in glee as the message continued. The message took a while to finish so you just opened a bag of chips and chunk them into your mouth, laughing.
