After finishing their meal, the trio gave their gratitude and bid their farewell to Linfan's older sister.
With free milk teas and take-out desserts in their hands, they continued walking to nowhere. They just let their feet led them to any place instead of going back home.
By the time they'd finish eating, the people in the city started to lessen so they were able to walk with ease.
"Won't Yuyan look for you?" Jiaqi asks Keni after sipping on her milk tea.
"I told Xiaotang to tell Yuyan that I'll be with you two. So far, I haven't received any messages from her." Keni said.
"How about you? Keyin hasn't asked about you?" Jiaqi asked Keran this time.
"I told her I was out with you two." Keran answered. "She was a bit shocked to hear that you're also with me." she added.
"I haven't met any of them yet." Jiaqi muttered.
"When do you plan on making your presence known to them again?" Keni asks. "Shuxin and even Yuyan misses you."
"Keyin and Linfan too." Keran also said.
"I haven't even verbally talked to our friends from the same major. I've only talked to Yuqing, Xinran, Yanni and you two." Jiaqi said. "Oh wait, I've also talked to Danni before." she remembered.
Keni looked at her with an amused look. "Zheng Danni? You two stayed in contact?" she asked.
"She never stopped messaging me. She even told me that she already has a girlfriend." Jiaqi answered.
"She still has you phone number?" Keran questioned.
"Her dad's my personal guard outside of the family's affairs. Don't you think it'll be weirder if she doesn't have my number?" Jiaqi asked back.
"Makes sense." Keran nodded in agreement.
As they continue to walk further, Keni noticed that their surrounding became more quieter, but it wasn't the eerie type of silence. It was more of the comforting type.
She looked at Jiaqi, who was leisurely drinking her milk tea while looking at her feet, and Keran, who has one of her hand in her pocket while she looks at the midnight sky.
Unknown to them, their feet actually led them to a very familiar place. A place where Jiaqi would always hide whenever things become too hard for her.
She doesn't remember how she got it, but it became a very important place to her because it was filled with lots of her memories with her friends and her cousins. She stopped going to that place after the death of two important people. And she didn't taught that she'd be back there after three years.
When they reached the huge front gate of the place, a man dressed in a formal black suit called for the owner with surprise lacing in his voice.
"Young Miss?" he said.
Hearing the familiar voice, the three girls stopped in their tracks.
Jiaqi looked up from looking at the ground just as Keran looked down from staring at the sky and stared at him with an equal amount of shock.
"Zhang jiujiu??" Jiaqi questioned.
She looked around the place where their feet took them. Only then did she recognized the familiar peaceful road that leads to this place.
"That's why it become more quieter." Keni said to herself as realization struck her.
"I can't believe we walked all the way here." Keran also said.
