someday, i want to
move to a country
where the weather is cooler
instead of hot and humid
all year round
which is something
i've experienced
all my life.

but most importantly,
i want to move somewhere
where same-sex marriage
is legal.

i want to be able to
marry the woman i love
whoever she may be
and live happily together.

or maybe
i'll fall in love
with a man.
who knows?
only time will tell.

but i want
to be able
to make that choice
if i want to.

obviously
nowhere on earth
is totally safe
from hate crimes.
since only 29
out of 195 countries
worldwide
made gay marriage legal.

i belong nowhere.

being asian
makes me a minority
in countries
where gay marriage is legal.

being queer
makes me a minority
in the country
where i currently live.

nowhere is truly safe
for someone like me.

can someone please show me
a place where i'll belong?
