This story was requested by @DanielleSkyeEl This is a story about Nia. I tried to write supercorp but it was like REALLY hard because I don't ship them (whoops sorry). I hope I made something nice out of it :)

I came back to 2020 because my sister had told me to. She was the only person I told about the dreams I had been getting since I turned thirteen. The first dream had been very indimidating for me. I dreamed about how the orphanage was on fire. At first, I didn't look into it much. But a night later it happened. My sister and I were the only two survivors because I had dreamed how I could get out. All my other brothers and sisters died. Part of me was relieved I didn't have to go back there. But the loss was too big. I would've suffered years more to save them. But I didn't have a choice.

Both of us got adopted by different families. We didn't want it but we were underage, so we didn't have a choice. I didn't even count the nights I cried myself to sleep because there were too many to even be counted. We weren't allowed to contact each other. People in my present were cruel. Until two weeks ago. Her new parents called my new parents. Lizzy - that was her name - had gotten sick. It had been too late. She died the day before. And again, I was heartbroken. But before we parted ways a three years ago, she told me to go to 2020 and get my answers. Why did my parents abandon me?

So, as a seventeen-year-old, I walked into the CatCo building. I'd done my research and I knew both my parents worked here. I'd never seen then. But I knew who they were. "Hi, for my studies I want an internship here" I said to a tall big guy. He had a friendly smile. "What do you study, then?" he asked. "M-media. I want to be a... reporter" I didn't know the studies in this time period but the guy seemed to believe it. "Lucky for you, we need extra staff. We can't pay you much, though."

"That's all right."

"Okay, well, my name is James Olsen. Why don't you start on Monday? I'll have a chat with Kara Danvers. You can follow her for a week and then work with her. Why don't you follow me and we can fill out the right files."

---

I had been fidgeting my fingers for four days. This was NOT my plan. My plan was to watch my parents from a distance while pretending to work there. Now I had to work with my mother. The mother who abandoned my when I was a baby. I hated her so much. How was I going to cope with this?

On Monday morning, I took the elevator to the right floor. I didn't immediately recognize the woman next to me. "Aren't you Nia Nal?" the woman said a bit too excited for my liking. "Yeeesss....?"

"I'm Kara Danvers. James told me you were shadowing me this week!"

My smile kinda faded away. This was my mother?? A lot of thoughts messed with my mind at that point and I didn't hear what she was saying. "Wh-what?"

"Today I have to get to the mayor's office, so you can tag along if you'd like."

I knew I didn't have much of a choice, so I nodded.

A week had passed. I had kept my distance from Kara. Three days ago I met my other mother. Lena Luthor. She owned Luthor Corp. It was kind of impressive. But with her too, I had kept my distance. Unfortunately, I'd falled asleep twice in this week. Luckily, when I had been sitting behind my desk and not while I was standing. Kara had asked about it twice but I had just lied instead. She didn't get to know me. She didn't have the right. She gave me up.

Today a familiar face showed up when I was working on an article. The woman went to Kara. She didn't recognize me. I recognized her, though. I didn't know her name but I'd seen her. She'd visited the orphanage about ten times in the first six years. But then she didn't. Did she come there for her? She'd always beent talking to the woman in charge. I never saw her leave CatCo because I'd fallen asleep again. And this time, the nightmare was bad.
