They needed Damien Darhks help to defeat Mallus. But what if he didn't help, because he couldn't?

Rip and Sara walked back to the Waverider. The Time Bureau wasn't going to help them with this. Suddenly there was a light in front of them. Damien Darhk appeared. ''You're not getting Obama'' Sara said. ''I'm not here for him. I'm here for my daughter. And I need your help'' Damien said. Sara didn't want to help him, but Rip said he could come with them to the ship.

''I assure you, this is completely unnecessary'' Damien said as Mick was drawing on the ground. According to Constantine this would work. This spell would keep him locked up and he couldn't use his magic. ''I come, as they say, in peace'' he added. ''And I, as they say, think you're full of crap'' Sara responded. ''I am a changed man, Sara'' Damien said, but Sara didn't believe him. ''The only change I want to see you go through is alive to dead'' she said, ''Ray, how we doing with Constantine's spell?''

''Just need one more splash of bat spleen. Sorry bat'' he said and let some of the liquid fall on the ground. ''And that should do it!'' Ray was kinda proud. Nothing happened. ''Mm, Maybe I missed an ingredient'' he guessed. ''Your Ankh symbol, it's upside down'' Damien helped them. ''Uh, no, it's not'' Mick said offended, because he was the one who drew it. ''Yes, it is.''

''Not, it's not'' Mick was getting angry. ''I knew it'd be difficult to get you guys to trust me'' Damien sighed. ''Hmm, try impossible'' Rip said. ''Which is why I brought this gesture of good faith'' Damien said, pulling the Water Totem out of his pocket. ''The Water Totem'' Nate said surprised. ''I borrowed it from my daughter after she ripped it from Kuasa's chest. Sorry about that, by the way'' Damien said, giving it to Sara. ''Do you guys mind if I give you a hand with this? You seem to be struggling a bit'' Damien said, gesturing to the ground. ''Yeah, okay, great'' he smiled and used his magic to turn the Ankh symbool. The magic worked immediately. ''Cool'' Ray said, ''uh, now, uh, try to choke me.''

''Really?''

''Yeah.''

Damien tried to choke Ray and he failed. His magic had been taken away. ''You, you can't!'' Ray cheered. ''Satisfied?'' Damien asked. ''Yeah'' Ray said.

Damien turned back to Sara. ''The Water Totem's gotta be worth something'' he said, ''with all sic, you guys might actually have a chance against Mallus.''

''You mean the same demon you've been creating anachronisms to release?'' Ava commented. ''That was before I realized what our partnership would cost me.''

''Nora'' Ray discovered. ''Dies the moment the demon escapes.'' Damien added, ''Now, I know this might rankle you a bit, Sara, but our interests are aligned. We can save Nora and stop Mallus from being freed, together.'' But Sara wasn't interested in the deal the man who killed her sister offered. ''No.''

''Excuse me?'' Damien asked. ''Rory, kill him'' Sara ordered. ''Wait, no no- no'' Ray said, ''wait wait wait.''

After a moment he continued: ''Okay, look. I- I know Damien has done terrible things in his past which cannot be forgiven, but I know that he loves his daughter. We can't just kill him.''

''He was already dead. Killing him would be repairing an anachronism'' Sara said. ''Yeah, so would incarcerating him in the Bureau'' Rip said. ''I agree with Rip'' Ava said, ''we need to think through this situation rationally.''

''Boss?'' Mick asked, still pointing his gun to Damiens face. Sara sighed. ''Stand down'' she ordered. ''I'm glad to see you came to your senses'' Damien sighed relieved. ''Think this makes us straight, you're wrong'' Sara said. She looked angry at Rip and Ava and then left the room. She couldn't look at him anymore. She couldn't look at anyone. They had no idea how that man changed her life, and not in a good way.
