Ch. 33 "Explanation"

                                                   Jayden POV 

I sat on the couch with Steve I finally calmed down, I hugged the stuffed Fox Loki gave me, That's when the Elevator Opened, 

Nat, Clint, Loki and Tony walked out, 

Tony was in his Iron Man suit he had the vile in his hand, with the liquid in it, 

I looked down guilty, 

Bucky was watching also, 

Tony walked towards me slowly, as the machines took his suit off, 

He was now kneeling in front of us, 

"Jayden what is this?" Tony said sternly 

my eyes darted around they were all watching me I could feel it, 

I stood up, setting the fox on the couch, 

I lifted the shirt from around my neck revealing the scar the needle left, 

"It's what they used to give me my powers," I said sadly 

"No one else survive it, so I took it so they wouldn't kill anyone else," I said 

"Where did they get it?" Bucky asked 

"I don't know all I know is they said they used it on people and only two people survived it, after that no one has," I said 

"So you took it the night I helped you escape?" Bucky said 

I nodded, 

"I didn't want anyone to go through that pain again.." I said sadly 

"Is that the night you made that promise little Fox?" Loki said 

I looked at him surprised, 

"What promise?" Steve asked 

"The same reason why she keeps distancing herself from us all, the reason why she ran off," Loki said walking towards me slowly 

"She promised herself she would never become close to anyone because of what's happened because of what she's done," Loki said 

I looked away, 

"Jayden.." Tony said 

I slowly looked up, 

They all looked concerned, 

"Can we talk to her privately," Steve said 

Everyone nodded leaving the room, 

My eyes darted around the room, 

"Talk to us sweetheart," Tony said 

"Look I made that promise so no one would get killed because of me... not again," I said 

"Because of what happened to your parents," Steve said 

I nodded, 

"Oh sweetheart that is not going to happen, we promise," Tony said 

"How can you promise something like that?" I asked as I felt tears welling up in my eyes, 

"How can you promise not knowing something like that is going to happen?" I asked 

"Because we are a lot stronger than we look," Steve said 

Tony nodded, 

I rubbed my eyes wiping away the tears that were threatening to spill, 

"Come on, let's get you cleaned up and ready for bed I think your tired," Steve said 

"I'm not tired," I said as he picked me up, 

"Not buying it sweetheart," Tony said 

With that we walked down the hallway,
