The girl is still unconscious, but now she's dressed, which is an improvement. She's pretty short so the plaid pants have to be rolled up and Lily has to steal one of Marlene McKinnon's bras since hers is a bit too small for the girl. She places a soft knitted black sweater over her head, pulling her arms through the sleeves. Lily doesn't know her shoe size, so they have to settle with socks. She also pulls the girls springy curls into a ponytail. Her hair's absurdly long, ending right at her waist when she pulls on a piece.

"You've got to wake her up." Lily states, stepping back once she's done. "You guys can't keep her knocked out like this.

James sighs. "Yeah, we know. Thanks for your help, Lily."

Lily throws the boys a worried look before hesitantly stopping outside the door. "I was never here." She tells them and closes the door. Remus lets out an exhausted sigh as James runs a hand through his hair.

"Ready?" Sirius asks, gesturing towards the girl.

Peter shakes his head, but prepares himself anyway. The boys stand around the curly haired girl as Remus performs a translation spell so that she could understand them and vice versa.

"Okay, prepare for disaster." Sirius murmurs. With a swish of his wand, the girl's eyes open confusedly. The marauders freeze, afraid of her every move. The bird girl lifts her head, noticing the boys who stare at her.

"Hello." Remus says gently, trying not to spook her.

The girl turns to look at him with dark blue eyes. "Hello." She whispers. Her eyes widen, she's never sounded like that before and how can she understand the human? She glances down at her new hands and then at the boy's. They're the same.

"My name is Remus. These are my friends, James, Sirius, and Peter." He point to each of them as they wave a hand to signal who's who.

The girl blinks. "Am I human?" She questions before sweeping her legs off the bed. Her sock covered feet touch the soft carpet as she stands. "I feel human." She says absentmindedly.

The marauders flock around her. "Yeah, you're human." James tells her, eyes still on her.

She looks around the room for a moment, taking it in. There are four beds and the rooms are rather messy. There's an abundance of the color red and gold. There are random clothes that look similar to what she's wear that's been strewn around the room. She spots an open window, making her rush towards it. It's much smaller than it seemed when she was normal. She places her hands on the ledge as the boys share worried looks behind her. "Humans can't fly." She murmurs to herself, reminding that she's heavier and larger so jumping out of the window is a bad idea.

"No that can't, so let's back away from the window." Sirius rushes past her, making her jump backwards as he closes the window.

"What's your name?" James asks.

The girl glances at him before continuing to walk around the room. She nearly trips over a sock on the floor, but she catches herself in time. The boys spare her a look, wanting to help her, but didn't want to touch her in case she freaked out. She continues on, but catches her eyes on a shiny surface. "What's a name?" she questions, reaching out a  hand to the object only for the object to reflect an identical hand back towards her. She gasps. "What is that?!"

"You don't have a name?" James asks as Peter murmurs at the same time, "It's a mirror."

She touches the mirror again before making eye contact with herself. The mirror blinks as she does, doing the same when she smiles. She reaches towards her own face, feeling the smooth skin, tracing her fingers over her cheekbones.

Sirius elbows James. "Of course she doesn't have a name. She was a bird an hour ago!"

"What's a bird?" The girl asks, now looking at her long curls. She pulls on them, grinning when they bounce.

"You don't know what a bird is?" Sirius asks, looking at her with large gray eyes. She shakes her head. "Well, a bird..." He looks to his friends for help, but none offer it. "A bird was you."

The girl nods. "What's a name?" She asks again, finally looking at the boys instead of exploring the room.

"A name is what people call you. It's usually unique to that person. It's what everyone refer to you as." Remus explains.

She furrows her brow. "What's my name?"

Sirius grins. "How about Birdie!"

Remus knocks the back of Sirius' head. "No."

"What about Raven? She was a raven before this happened." Peter suggests.

James jumps from his spot, grabbing a coin from his pocket. "Heads, it's Birdie and tails, it's Raven."

Remus smacks his own forehead.

[Author's note!]

Okay, I know that there isn't a translation spell, but I'd really rather not write her learning how to speak cause that'd be incredibly difficult for me. Thanks for understanding!
