Alison was supposed to have wings sewn on her back. In the rough drafts, she begged for the scientists in the Maximum Ride series to see wings on her back. After doing so (and before she winded up shoved in a cage), Sonic breaks into the facility as a werehog and chases her to a cliff (which she YEETS herself off and teaches herself how to fly). This is also one of the few times Alison Hedgehog had successfully managed to evade Sonic (first time being in a dojo). It explains where Alison got her fighting spirit from. Let's just say that the werehog used a cliched line to emphasize how powerful he is. Those same wings were ripped off of her back in a similar manner that Maleficent lost her wings in the live action movie of the same name.
