A/N - Imagine: Matt is a prince and you're a commoner, you are invited to a ball at the palace and he falls in love with you on the dancefloor ♡
---
"I can't go to the ball! I'm not rich like those folk up there" I object. Annie rolls her eyes at me. "But I am and you're coming as my plus one" she insists. "But I don't even have a dress" I sigh. Annie beams at me before rummaging through her closet before she pulls out the most beautiful gown I've ever seen.

"I can't- I can't accept that" I'm speechless. "You're wearing it. In fact, keep it. I have at least 100 dresses to choose from" she smiles. "You're the best" I smile back. A few hours later, we're driven in a limo towards the palace. I feel nervous as we arrive, it's nothing like I'm used to.
Annie and I enter into the grand hall where everyone is dancing. The King and Queen are sitting on their thrones watching the people with plastered smiles on their faces. I notice Prince Matthew hanging out with his friends, all the teenage girls are swooning over him.
"I'm going to get a drink," Annie says to me and leaves. I stand alone on the dance floor, peering around at all the couples. "Thanks, An, I look like a loner" I mumble to myself. After a moment, a sudden tap on my shoulder makes me flinch and I turn around to encounter Prince Matt.
"Your Majesty" I curtsy out of respect, remembering what Annie had taught me from before. His eyes scan my body before he looks into my eyes. "What's your name?" He asks, his voice is soft like velvet with a hint of sarcasm. "Y/n" I introduce apprehensively.
"Hmm, well Y/n. May I have this dance?" He asks and holds out his hand. I feel myself blushing intensely as I nod, it'd be offensive to turn down the prince. He carefully takes my hand in his and leads me to the middle of the dancefloor, the other guests murmur as they watch us curiously.
Matt wraps his hands around my body as I lean my head against his shoulder. "I've never seen a girl like you until tonight" he flatters me. "Thank you, your Majesty" I reply quietly. He chuckles and then lifts my chin with his finger, his eyes shift down to my lips before he leans in and kisses me gently.
I hear the crowd gasp but we don't care, it's a magical moment.
When we finally pull apart, he grins at me. "How about a date sometime?" He sounds serious. "I don't think your parents would agree-" I begin. "I don't care, I want you," he says firmly.
"I'd love that" I smile as we dance the night away.
