"For fuck sake, Koo!"

The words echoed in his ears upon entering the bakery. Today was Yoongi's birthday celebration. Although it had been a little under a week since his birthday passed, his sister-in-law desired to celebrate with family and friends.

They were out of town when his day had occurred and celebrated it away from everyone else.
Jennie, therefore, made sure to gather the immediate family for a late lunch.

He straightened his posture and walked over to Moonbyul.

The cashier behind the counter was a heavy woman who looked rather charming with her gray curls. She smiled at him as she wrote down the order Moonbyul had placed before disappearing at the back.

Moonbyul glanced down at her wrist, checking the time as she frustratingly grunted at him, "You're twenty minutes late."

"I know."

She glared at him momentarily, annoyance streaming out of her as she lightly slapped his chest, "Pabo."

Moonbyul then went ahead and explained the bakery had been short of staff this week due to illness and it caused a delay. The heavy woman had explained this to her moments before he had arrived.
Moreover, the only thing Jennie had requested from them would get made now, meaning they would be late to the party.

"Don't worry, I explained it to Jennie too."

"That's good. How long do we have to wait?"

Moonbyul shrugged, "I don't know. I'll ask auntie when she returns."

He glanced at the back of the counter where the heavy woman disappeared to. Faint sounds occurred from there and he couldn't quite understand the words but recognized the language as Arabic.

It was his first time at a bakery that looked like this. It had a cozy atmosphere about it and he gazed out at the surrounding in amazement.

The interior was different shades of beige, wooden and tall chairs, and dining area for customers completed with lushes tall plants.
The ceiling and floor were made of wood as well. It looked neat, aesthetically pleasing even, and quite inviting he thought.

He glanced at some of the paintings that neatly hung on the wall. Some of them had Arabic writings on them while others were imagery of something he figured was religious.

The heavy woman reappeared from the back and he listened casually - still in awe of the cozy bakery - as the woman explained to Moonbyul the cake would be done in an hour.

She eyed him momentarily, clearly annoyed that they would be late before she turned to the woman and paid for the strawberry chocolate cake.

He followed behind Moonbyul as she frantically searched for a toy for his nephew.

It wasn't Taemin's birthday but she had promised him a small suitcase he had seen in a commercial. She figured the toddler wouldn't get jealous when his Father opened his presents.

Moonbyul held onto two large helium balloons for Yoongi of the numbers 'two' and 'eight' representing his age as she scanned the children's aisle.

He could hear she was talking to him but he was spacing out, replying to her with short answers and zero-interest as you kept roaming his thoughts. He couldn't get you off his mind nor the guy he saw at your apartment.

It was a mistake.

It was a stupid idea to show up at your place unannounced. What did he expect? It wasn't as though you would pause your life and your needs on the off-chance you'd get back together with him.
