"There's nothing wrong with me, i said i was fine to continue but Tris think's something's wrong and their isn't," i looked down as he just stared at me, i was such a bad liar.

"Oh so your ribs aren't hurting at all then?" he asked raising his eyebrow.

"Nope," i glanced at him but then stared at the ground as we kept walking. All of a sudden i winced feeling a sharp pain in my side and looked to see Eric holding my waist as he pushed me up against the nearest wall hard causing pain to shoot through my body.

"Don't lie to me," he mumbled coldly as he kept my body in place by leaning his against me and forcefully lifted my hands up above my head causing me to gasp at the pain in my ribs. Gently he let one hand trail down my arm to the bottom of my shirt and i knew what he was going to do so started struggling beneath him but it was no use. He was way too strong. Once I'd stopped i closed my eyes and just let him lift the shirt to see the black/blue bruise forming across most of my rib cage. I heard him breath out as his fingers traced the bruise making me whimper.

"Who did this?"he asked as i blinked and looked into his blue piercing gaze. He sounded angry but clearly trying to contain it.

"N-nobody," i whimpered. As soon as he lets me go i have to get away from him. I don't know this part of the city so i might just have to make a run for it.

"Yeah clearly that's the truth," he said sarcastically pulling my top back down . He looked back up and that's when i realised how close we were. Our faces were a few inches apart and i could feel his breath on my face. Don't back down i told myself remembering the staring contest we'd had only yesterday, "Seriously, who gave you that?" he asked again in a non-threatening and worried voice which shocked me but there was anger evident in his eyes.

"I can't tell you," I whispered.

"Why not? Was it an initiate? Someone at Dauntless?" I shook my head the best i could in this position. He sighed in frustration and stepped back running a hand through his hair, "You know I'll get it out of you so you might as well just say."

I took my chance when he looked up the street we'd just come down before i started sprinting in the other direction. My side was in agony but i just kept going. Behind me i could hear Eric's footsteps chasing after me and he was shouting my name in anger. I was in so much trouble. The street was coming to an end so i turned right down another alley. I knew he was getting closer by the shadows from the sun every time i crossed the main street onto the next set of alleys. I'd managed to keep running until i had to slow since ahead of me was blocked by a wall that was way too high to climb. The stabbing pain in my ribs was making it hard to walk normally so i leaned against the wall and looked up when two black boots appeared in front of me.

Eric looked beyond mad, but not a bit tired despite the ten minute sprint. I forced myself to look into his eyes as his hands rested against the wall on either side of my head trapping me in. His eyes were slightly darker but there was something else there, "Why did you run?" he almost sounded hurt. Almost.

"I cant tell you why," i replied and he groaned.

"Come on Kierra, this is so frustrating," i said nothing as he grabbed my arm and began walking down the street quite quickly.

"Where are we going?" i asked panicked but he didn't say anything. I saw people in black uniforms staring in shock as we walked past trucks parked at the side. I'm guessing they were dauntless guards about to go to the fence on duty.

Soon we arrived at large metal doors where there were trucks unloading crates of supplies. Eric dragged me past them, exchanging words with some of the guards that laughed at me while some sent me sad smiles. I was then pulled down several badly lit corridors until we got to a room that looked familiar from the tour. I think it was the infirmary.

"Hello Eric, what do you need?" a woman smiled walking over to us.

"This one needs her ribs looking at," he nodded at me, finally letting go of his tight grip on my arm. The woman nodded and led me into another room with Eric right behind me.

"I'm going to have to ask you to lift your top so i can see your side," she asked and i did hesitantly knowing I had no choice.

She gasped then turned to Eric,"Can you leave for a minute while i have a word alone with her?"

"No," he said bluntly and she looked hesitant but continued with her job.

"Kierra, where did you get those bruises?" she asked while she retrieved an ice back from the cupboard. She looked kind enough to keep it secret but Eric was here so I just stared at him.

"I'm not going anywhere so stop looking at me like that," he folded his arms and stood at the end of the bed I was sat on.

"Okay...well Kierra I've seen bruises like them before but only once and they weren't as bad as these. You also know who I'm talking about," she explained and i saw Eric's eyebrows furrow in confusion. Of course she was talking about Tobias.

"Who?" he demanded. Why does he even care?

"Patient privacy," the nurse said," I'm Belle by the way."

"Thanks," I smiled as she handed me an ice pack wrapped in a towel and pressed it to my side.

"I'm a leader so I can access that information if I want to," Eric growled making her throw me a sad smile but I nodded since she had no choice.

"Her brother had similar bruises when he arrived here. They're not ordinary ones from fighting in a ring, they're more...abusive," she sighed and I felt tears begin to build in my eyes. I felt weak. I came here thinking I'd be able to start again but now Eric knew and I'm sure he was going to cut me considering I can hardly do half the stuff we're supposed to.

"Abusive?" he was angry. Really angry and it was frightening. Why is he so upset about this, it has nothing to do with him. He looked at me waiting for me to confirm it but I couldn't find any words so just nodded slightly. "Who's your brother?"

At that exact moment, Four barged through the door. Great. Talk about timing. His eyes met mine then looked between the nurse and Eric who had shock written across his face as he put the pieces together.

"Him?" he pointed but I couldn't answer. I was staring at Tobias who's eyes were fixed in horror at the bruise up my side so I pulled my shirt down trying to hide it.

"Kierra," he walked over and sat down on chair in front of me, "Why didn't you say?"

"I don't know," i mumbled looking down in shame. I was embarrassed because it made me look weak. None of this has turned out how I wanted it to.

"Come here," he pulled me into a hug and out the corner of my eye i saw Eric tense," I shouldn't have left you there."

"So you two are brother and sister,?" we nodded.

"That explains this morning," he mumbled and looked at his watch.

"Four, Eric knows about Marcus," Belle said from the desk where she was typing in some information.

"Who's Marcus?"he asked staring at me again.

"Our father," Four said letting go of me to check how the ice was doing.

"YOUR DAD DID THIS TO YOU?!" he yelled and I flinched away in fear.

"ERIC! leave if you're just going to shout," Belle said sternly passing me a tub of cream, "This is for the bruise. Erudite made it. It's supposed to heal bruising and reduce pain so it should help you until your back to normal since It doesn't look like they're broken. She's not training today though so both of you go back to work, I'll take care of her."

To the boys protests they were both ushered out of the room while Belle told me to rest because she had to treat another patient. Soon my eyes were tired so i lay back and let sleep engulf me.
