A Reverse World

Chapter 18

She had grown up liking syrius and eventually falling in love with him so it was to be expected how she  reacted when she'd learned Collette was courting him. She'd met him behind the school pleading and begging him to accept her and refuse Collette. He refused threatening her that if she were to  reveal anything about their engagement he'd break it off.

Later that day Naerys had seen amaryllis groaning in pain and had helped her to the best of his abilities as he usually did anytime she got beaten up, and I entered this world not long after.

Ugh, despicable! Syrius really is just something else. I turned my attention to Naerys who was eagerly looking out the window. I smiled before moving closer and lightly stroking his hair. " What's your favourite colour?". He looked at me before quickly playing his eyes back on the ground. I held in my laughter and tugged at his hand.

He stared straight at me and slowly spoke " Your eyes Amar, their crimson shade is the most beautiful colour I've ever seen." He quickly looked back down again. I was stunned for a moment before I burst into giggles. " You're so sweet Naerys" I bent down and placed a kiss on his cheek. His comment warmed my heart and I was still in a  pleasant mood by the time we arrived at our destination. I got out of the carriage and gently pulled him with me into  carstelle.

I  tried to ignore his starry eyed look but failed. There was just something about the way he'd been acting first his words behind the school, then his comment at the stable and now this. Not to mention, one consistent statement i'd heard all day was that Naerys wasn't loved at home. Even if he wasn't loved, surely he would have been treated well growing up right?, Naerys was a prince after all. But i still couldn't shake the feeling that I was wrong, Naerys and I weren't close enough yet to ask such personal questions so either I'll wait till we are or find other means of obtaining that information.

I strolled beside Naerys guiding him to the area for jewels. I looked through the ones placed but although they were all beautiful, none matched what I wanted for Naerys. " Excuse me" I said stopping a worker passing by. She turned around and I just stared at her. I hadn't noticed before because they hung low but now her ears stood at attention, she had long white fluffy ears much like those of a bunny and a small puffy tail to match. Her face was small with clear eyes.

" Yes" she asked, her ears twitching. I just stared.
She's... she's a bunny shifter? H-how? How is this possible?, Weren't all other shifter races killed off in that war hundred years ago? I thought-

" Miss do you need something ?" I snapped out of it and replied " I want you to take me to the mineral section." She nodded " come this way miss". I followed after her with Naerys. The mineral section as its name explained was the section where precious mineral were kept and sold for customers to buy for whatever reason.

I desired a blood red ruby or something of the sort which I would use to get Naerys a custom made engagement jewel. He obviously had no idea of my plan and just walked docilely behind me. I tugged him forward as soon as we arrived. After the worker left, I focused my attention on the sparkling jewels before me, Naerys was at my side excited about the jewels. I laughed at his enthusiasm, he reminded me of a small child.

" Naerys pick anything you like" I said discreetly tucking a jewel into my sleeves. I had already discovered the perfect gem for the job. I hid it from Naerys though as I wanted it to be a surprise. After a lot of coaxing Naerys picked an irridescent blue diamond and held it out to me. " I like this one Amar". I nodded and after paying for both jewels had Naerys follow me into Tyrion's office/ room. I wanted to see if he was present or not.

He was surprisingly, only after looking at the time did I realize that it was far from noon meaning the academy had probably shut it's gates by now. " Hi Tyrion" " hello princess" he said, nodding to me and placing his teacup back in its saucer. " Prince Naerys" he said acknowledging the boy beside me. Naerys looked down and remained quiet not responding.
