Annie could feel the muscles of her chin tremble like a small child, There's static in her head once more, the side effect of the constant fear, constant stress she lived with.
"Anna?" At the sound of her mother's trembling voice, It takes somethin...

Her hair was still relatively wet, she wore one of Ada's white nightdresses, and tugged her cousin's wool cardigan closer around her as she walked downstairs. Ada was sat with her feet tugged under her, the fire warming their skins. Anna stood before her, looking hesitant before Ada for the first time, causing the brunette to lower her book. "Will he be alright?" Anna asked, softly, her features falling into almost a pout. What a strange expression to be on her face, sorrow, Ada pondered. "I don't know." She answered, truthfully and her brown eyes faltered before lowering to the floor. Anna stood silently, and then took a seat beside her cousin. They sat on the sofa in mutual silence, perhaps being the only two in the world who cared for the man beyond reasoning.
"I think I'll stay with him, at Arrow house, after the funeral. Stay with Charlie." Ada said after some time, she looked to Anna who nodded. "When will that be?" She referred to the funeral. "Tomorrow- well, today." She corrected. "So soon." Anna's brows rose, and Ada smiled sadly. "Yeah, her uncle wanted it done quickly so he could leave England and be done with us." Ada shut her book and placed it beside her. "Well, I understand why he'd want to leave." Anna leaned back into the sofa, and Ada turned to her with an inquiring look. "You want to leave?" She queried and the blonde's brows contorted, she then shook her head. "Tommy's in a bad way, i can't just leave." And she meant it, Ada had realised. The older woman of the two took the information in with slow nods. "Alison's offered to come with me and stay. I think they're well acquainted, her and Tommy." The soon to be nineteen year old proved to be more than snark and attitude, Ada wasn't sure when Tommy realised. Anna nodded, "She was closer to Grace than I was." She remembered how Tommy had said they wouldn't stay strangers for long, but that is exactly what they were, strangers, and they'd both die that way . "I would offer to help but I think he would just feel smothered, I'm sure that's not what he wants." Ada seemed to agree with her. "Did yesterday freak you out?" Ada asked and the blondes inhaled before exhaling, her words not coming out. "I think it was a wakening call, if I ever needed one." She said but it wasn't enough. "What does that mean?" Ada asked, fairly sure she already knew the answer. "It means, it did freak me out. A lot." She admitted, and they parted with a goodnight shortly after.
She twisted the handle to the guest bedroom, and pushed it forward, the wide spaced room coming into view, and most unexpectedly, a looming figure that of Gabriel Wilson's. Her chest rose as she inhaled but she didn't say anything, only shifted the door behind her. She spoke as she walked towards him. "What are you doing here Gabriel?" She asked, with a furrow of her brows. He stared down at her, through thick brown lashes and straightened up as he spoke. "Lift your skirt." He stated without agitation. Anna's mouth fell open, her gaze dropping, he was in a men's long-sleeve undershirt, and trousers bottoms. And he'd asked her to lift her skirt. She wasn't sure why that made her blood rush, and her skin warm. She stared into his eyes, gulping, and unsure what to say, to do, or feel about his words. He reached into his pocket, and pulled something rectangular and silver, as he pushed at its side, it was revealed to be a knife; short but sharp enough to do more than draw blood.
