Chapter 1

4 years later

Asriel POV
It's 7:20 am in the morning right now and I'm suppose to get up at 7, I don't like getting up really early that frisk had to wake me up everyday, well usually. Mom usually makes us breakfast for the day while chara likes to have cereal for breakfast instead, Mom is busy sometimes like going on early school meetings so Frisk will be the one who makes us breakfast instead, she usually makes pancakes and boy they were my favourite. Well mom's butterscotch pie is best out of all of our opinions so I guess frisk's pancakes were my second favourite, she makes waffles sometimes too and top it off with chocolate syrup which was chara's favourite. But since this went frisk starts to make breakfast for us a lot more often, there would be always that one time where chara and me will convince frisk to make our favourite meals, so she just made both instead so it wouldn't be a problem. "Hey kiddos, you all ready to workout with undyne?" Sans asked, I nodded as a yes. "Oh sans, I have some leftover pancakes for you" Frisk said, "heh, I'm good kiddo I'll just have a bottle of ketchup for the day" sans said, Everyone finished their breakfast and waited for undyne in the backyard. I didn't expect her to surprise us from behind, "MORNING PUNKS" undyne yelled in excitement. It made me screamed but frisk and chara tried their hardest not to laugh from what just happened, "ya ready for your workout?" Undyne yelled in excitement again, we all said yes and she said that there will also be a little bit of a test she wants us to start off with. I was very curious about the test but I knew we have to workout first, after a few moments of working out and doing very "PAINFUL" exercises, I can finally see what the test was going to be. "So, you punks good at dodging?" Undyne asked, I didn't feel really optimistic about that test because I'm really terrible at it. Frisk looked like she doesn't really have a problem with it since she fought everyone in the underground once while Chara isn't very experienced but she's at least above average. "Alright then, I'll using sticks instead of spears since they are really dangerous, now each one of you will have a stick and first one catch me is the champion" Undyne said, Frisk felt nostalgic about it since she used to fight Undyne 4 years ago. "Ok on your butts, ready? Go!" Undyne yelled and threw her stick at the 3 of us, frisk and I managed to dodged it in time but it hit Chara. "Ow, what the fuck?" Chara yelled, "Swear!" Frisk and I yelled. "Guys, we're already like grown ups and why do you still need to follow that rule" Chara said. There were more spears coming towards us and I didn't expect her to have so many until I realized those are undyne's spears but she just removes the hook, oh boy isn't this gonna be fun? I was running towards her and she knew I was coming and she aim for me as the main target. I was freaking out and screaming like I wasn't ready for this, I saw a stick coming towards me and I think I felt ready for that one this time. I jumped and feeling optimistic that I would be able to catch one and throw it back, everyone was surprised what I was doing and they think I would be able to do it, but unfortunately I failed and i ended up being hit in the face by a stick and it hurts like A LOT. Everyone ran to me and asked me if I was okay and I replied to them that I was fine, it did hurt but I can still keep going.

Third person POV
Asriel was determined to keep going, his 2 sisters helped him get up and get back into the test, "welp, I'm gonna get her first" Chara said, "Oh no you don't" frisk laughed, "hey guys wait for me!" Asriel yelled. They all striked undyne all at once, she dodged chara's approach but she saw frisk was coming. She back off in time but she was really impressed about them almost winning, Asriel was coming in her way , undyne was gonna defend herself by throwing more but Asriel unexpectedly dodged all of my them. Undyne was shocked from what Asriel just did and he ran really fast against her, he was really happy that he was going to get her but something went off. The moment Asriel was going to approach towards undyne, his vision became dark, he didn't know what was going on and it made him had a flashback to his trauma, where the time he got Isabel stabbing herself by accident. There was a black figure with red eyes that looked like him and said "you killed her and it's all your fault". Asriel felt extremely stressed and missed undyne and fell to the ground really hard. "Azzy!" Frisk and chara both yelled. "I'm sorry......I'm sorry....I'm sorry....I didn't mean to" Asriel cried while being traumatized on the ground. "Asriel, are you okay?" Undyne and his sisters repeatedly yelled at him, Asriel saw them being worried and asking if he was okay, "oh no I'm fine" Asriel giggled nervously, "look see? I'm okay, there's nothing to be worried about" Undyne said. "I'm okay, really" Asriel sighed. "I need to go inside now, I might need some time alone...for a bit" He said after a bit of silence. Asriel walked into the house and going straight to the bathroom. After going inside the bathroom, he couldn't believed that thing he saw, the dark figure that looked like him with red glowing eyes. He starts seeing black vines around him making him feeling scared and extremely uncomfortable, he looked in the mirror and he saw it again. That unknown black figure that looked like him, but it started to shape-shift into Isabel. Asriel was paralyzed with fear and distressed, "Asriel, it's me your best friend" the figure said. He started to see more black vines surrounding him, "why asriel, WHY DID YOU KILL ME?!" the figure yelled. Asriel is filled with extreme fear and guilt, thinking he's the one responsible for his best friend's death. He was helpless and he was begging for the pain to stop, begging someone to end his pain. "Asriel?, Asriel! Are you okay in there?" A familiar voice was calling him from outside of the bathroom. They came in the bathroom and it was frisk, "whoa Azzy, are you okay? Why are you on the floor?" She asked, He didn't answer and doesn't want to look at her. "No wait!..., I think I can get up myself" asriel said, he still sees the black vines surrounding him, he knew that frisk was reactionless because she can't see what asriel is seeing, Asriel is the only one who can see it. It's his trauma and guilt haunting him, he hasn't told the truth what really happened to Isabel yet. Frisk didn't really like the way Asriel talk, she had a feeling that something is off here. Asriel asked frisk if she still remembers the day Isabel died, "yes and...is that what you were sad about?" She sighed and asked, "I understand, you must of really missed her....she was your best friend too and it hurts to see you go through all that, I just wished we came earlier so it wouldn't all happened or go back and do that but....well you know I don't have the ability to reset anymore, with half of my soul shared with Chara. It hurts even more to see you see her die and you didn't saved her in time but it wasn't your fault, you just didn't know what was happening so even if you didn't saved her in time, you will forgive yourself, will you azzy?" She said, Asriel went in silence again even what frisk told him, he still couldn't forgive himself what actually happened and what he had done. "Well I'm sure you will, if you feel alone don't forget, I'm always here for you, we're all here for you" Frisk said and hugs him to cheer him up like how a sister trying to comfort their little brother. The black vines starts to go away and he finally calmed down from his traumatic Hallucinations. "We're gonna go hang out with the guys, chara's waiting downstairs so you wanna come?" Frisk asked, Asriel nodded and went downstairs with frisk. Frisk told Asriel to wear his scarf since it's going to get cold, Frisk wore her jacket that sans gave her so she doesn't get cold too. They went downstairs and saw Chara checking her phone waiting outside. "Oh there you guys are, come on let's go" Chara said. The dreemurr kids were on their way to Ebott park since their friends will meet up there together. After finally reaching the park, they see their friends waiting for them. Frisk burst in excitement and greet them with enthusiasm, Chara did a normal greeting and so does Asriel. They were their old friends that they known each other as a group for many years now. Lisa, Hikiro, krista, monster kid and Alan. "hey guys, glad you could make it" Hikiro said, "yeah, we got your favorite juice boxes" Lisa said. There are Apple and banana juice boxes, everyone only liked the apple one but Lisa brought banana since Hikiro and frisk likes it for some reason. "Haha that's nice and look what I got" Frisk said and took out 2 butterscotch pies out of her bag since she also brought her bag with her, Everyone gasped in surprise about the pie. "Your mom's butterscotch pie?, wow our favorite!" krista smiled and couldn't wait to eat it. "You made 2?" Chara asked. "Well in case it's enough for everyone since there are many of us" Frisk smiled. Frisk has been experienced with cooking too but not the way like undyne does, just casual cooking but she also gets a little aggressive with it sometimes depends on the situtation. She also learned how to make butterscotch pie from Toriel's recipe so she can make it for her friends and family anytime. "Your mom's pie has got to be the best thing we've eaten frisk, I gotta admit she has cooking talents, I'm pretty sure you'll be as great as her one day" Lisa said, "well I could get better, I don't think I'll be able to be as talented as anyone" Frisk said with doubt, but Lisa still thinks she seriously would someday. "Alright let's dig in" Alan said, Frisk was glad she made more than enough for everyone. Each of them gets 2 slices of pie, "ah, the taste of heavens melting with harmony in my mouth, gets me every time" krista said after her first bite with satisfaction. Alan told krista that he'll race her if she wants to, krista agreed and she was ready for the race. "Yo, I wanna join too" Monster kid said, now there's gonna be 3 kids being competitive eaters on their pie and they took bite by bite really fast. "Hey guys slow down, I know you're racing and all but you're gonna get sick if you don't slow down you'll even make a mess, frisk worked hard on these pies you know?" Hikiro said, "welp you're just watching your friends aggressively attempting to devour their whole pie while you sit here and enjoying your precious pie, it fills you with determination" Chara said, "You enjoy your own sweet pie and so do we" Hikiro said, "hah well, isn't it as sweeet as you?" Frisk asked, "Haha very funny...with the flirting again huh?" Hikiro replied, "oh come on hikiro, aren't you at least the precious one too?" Lisa said, "sis why are you joining her" Hikiro said after being a little flustered from both of their flirting. Lisa saw everyone was enjoying themselves but Asriel didn't look too happy today, "hey guys?, Azzy's been really quiet today and he doesn't look too happy either, is there something that's been bothering him?" Lisa asked, Frisk didn't gave a really happy look either. "Yeah, come on azzy you've been really quiet today, how about a smile? It should be enough" Krista smiled, Asriel tried to do what she but it was only a small smile. "Come on azzy I know you can do better than that" krista complaint, Asriel tried his hardest to give at least a decent smile but he doesn't want to either. Krista was wondering what was going on with him either, usually he always gives a decent smile but he didn't today, he's never been like that before. "It's just....he's really upset....about Isabel" Frisk said emotionally, "oh, I guess you really must of missed her huh? I'm sorry I shouldn't bring that up" Lisa said, "Yeah, it is really hard to go through with it, losing someone you really like really hurts you a lot, someone that means to you a lot, I should of helped Isabel earlier like a big bro but I wished I knew she was depressed from the start, it's very hard to tell if people are either okay and really deeply hurt inside, they don't want to reveal their pain because they were scared that they would make their friends feel bad and guilty about it that their friends could of helped them, some people hide it for too long ending up for them to take their own life away because they couldn't handle their pain anymore and wished for it all to end, their friends and family would only had known the truth if they did that, they felt really heartbroken that someone they care about die, their friends and family would feel guilty about it and thinking that they were responsible for their death and sometimes I think, that's just how life is, if people are determined enough to go through their pain then they're the lucky ones" Hikiro said emotionally, Asriel heard everything what Hikiro said and he was getting scared that it would happen to him. If he keeps the truth longer, he might end up committing suicide too just like what happened to Isabel. Asriel starts to see black vines surrounding him again, he tried so hard not to have a breakdown but he was determined to stay calm. That black figure thing came again but this time it looked like flowey with red eyes, "You can't keep running forever Asriel" it said, "if you tell the truth, your friends won't forgive you for what you did and if you keep hiding the truth maybe like what he said, you'll end up suffering more and maybe even killing yourself because you couldn't handle the pain anymore, you'll break their hearts and they'll feel guilty about themselves, they will blame themselves and think that they were reponsible for your death and they will suffer the way like you do" it said, "no, no...you're not real, you're not real, you're not real!" Asriel whispered repeatedly to himself. Everyone looked at Asriel while he was struggling to stay calm, "uh frisk? I don't think Azzy's doing okay right now" Chara said, everyone was worried to whatever is happening to Asriel. "He might of been too upset about.......her" Lisa sighed, "I know you really missed her but she's gone and well I know you can't let go of her...moving on is really hard too but don't forget we're all counting on you" Krista said, "yeah, because that's what friends are for, without friends you won't be able to find happiness, it will make things harder, love makes people motivated and determined, when you're determined for the things you want, it's not just you that's gonna find happiness your friends and family will too because it was worth it supporting you. So, if you're trying to get something you always want for yourself or your friends, don't give up wherever you are alright?" Hikiro said cheering Asriel up, Asriel finally gave at least a normal smile from Hikiro's encouragement. "Aw see? I knew our little goatbro would cheer up" Frisk said while patting Asriel's head, The black vines starts to go away again. He would only feel safe if he's around with his friends. But he couldn't be around for too long either, sometimes there will be random times that will remind Asriel about the accident with Isabel so might have to avoid them for some time. "Hey can I ask you guys something?" Asriel said, "sure what is it?" Lisa said, "have you noticed that something is off lately or seen anything strange?" Asriel asked, "Well no, the only thing is off is that you got a lot more sad and unhappy a few moments ago and the only strange thing I seen is when my neighbor running around his backyard half naked like he was drunk or something" Hikiro said, everyone was confused what he was talking about except for Lisa because she saw it too. Mostly they all made a "what the fuck did I just heard" reaction. Asriel finally knows that all of his friends doesn't see what he's seeing, his traumatic hallucinations that's haunting him that only Asriel can see it. "Oh also my dad said that we're all gonna have a trip to the lake so any of you wanna come?" Hikiro said, Everyone agreed to go but Asriel hesitated a bit before he said yes. "Alright meet us at our house in the afternoon, we'll wait for you guys there" Hikiro said in excitement.
*time skip to the end of the picnic*
Everyone went home and preparing things for their trip in the afternoon. The dreemurr children were really excited on their way home to get some things prepared for the trip.

So I guess this is the first chapter done, it might take kinda long for each chapter to come out because I'm kinda busy with some things but I can at least try to continue to write them
