CHAPTER 14: SEARCH PARTY

After we grabbed our luggage we got a cab to our AirBNB and checked out everything, it was a really nice condo. When we went to put our stuff in our rooms I noticed Rafe looked tired and asked if he slept well on the plane?

He looked over at me and gave me a tired smile and said, "Yeah, but I'm still just a little tired but it's okay."

I said, "okay then, well can you take us over to your families condo."

He nodded his head yes and we left the room.

The other three were all ready to go so we set off on our mini search party. We all agreed JJ and Kiara would check out the airport where the plane would have landed with the gold and see if they were anywhere near there trying to get it. Pope would go to a nearby library and do some research on how to get cash for the gold in the area, and me and Rafe were headed to his family's house because Sarah and John B might be staying there.

We all set out to our destinations in an uber, but Rafe said we could probably pick them all up because they have a car in their Bahama house.

When we got to the house we thanked our driver and he drove off. As we approached the door I grabbed the back of his shirt and he looked confused.

"Don't you think your sister and John B are going to be mad if they see you if they're here?" I said to him.

He sighed and said, "yeah, they will be, but I have to start somewhere if I'm going to want them to forgive me for putting them in this mess."

He checked to see if the door was locked and it wasn't, so we walked right in.

As soon as we walked in he made eye contact with Sarah and John B who were stood at the island kitchen with a bunch of papers and maps on the counter.

I don't think they saw me because of the angle we were stood at, but I saw Sarah running up to punch Rafe in the stomach and before I could think I stood in front of him and said, "wait-." but was cut off with a punch to my gut and getting the wind knocked out of me.

I stood breathless and then took a deep breathe in and looked at Sarah as she looked at me wide eyed and with her jaw dropped.

I fell to the floor and said, "jeeze have you been taking boxing lessons since the last time I saw you or something, god damn."

Sarah still stood shocked then she fell to her knees in front of me and hugged me and said, "I'm so sorry I didn't even see you, but you have to listen okay-." She pulled away from the hug and I said, "if you're going to tell me about what Rafe did I know."

She stood up and looked over at Rafe as he helped me up and then John B said while walking over to Rafe with his fist in the air, "You're going to pay for what you did."

I stood up in front of him and grabbed onto his hand and said to John B, "don't try it John B."

He looked down at me and over to Sarah who wasn't doing anything and put his fist down and said, "are you serious, you're defending him? After what he did?"

Then he scoffed and looked at Rafe and said, "what you've hired yourself a little body guard, she's a bit short for one don't you think Rafe."

Rafe aggressively said, "hey dude cut it out okay?"

John B walked up to Rafe real close as Rafe pulled me behind him and John B said, "or what? Is little princess over here gonna do something about it."

Then with Rafe's free hand that wasn't holding mine he pushed John B back and said, "dude watch it right now, I don't wanna fight you."

John B said, "really well I do." But Sarah then pulled John B back by his wrist and said, "hey John B, give it a rest already."

She let go of John B and walked past Rafe and gave me a hug and said, "did you really come back because you heard what happened?"
