Bittersweet memories

Y/n POV
I wake up to my alarm at 4:45am because mr aizawa said we have to be up early
I roll over and notice Momo wasn't there,I forgot the boys and girls have separate shared dorms,I'm laying about 5 feet away from Todoroki and kirishima each on either side of me
All the other boys are sleeping
I grumble and drag myself to the boy's shared shower room where I hop into a shower cubicle

When I turn on the shower's tap the water comes out cold,it takes my breath away
"Ahhh fuck that's freezing" I say as I jump backwards
I catch my breath with my back against the shower wall but a memory flashes through my head
*flashback
Y/n age 5
I'm sat in the bath at my house with my mom kneeling outside the bath washing my hair,she scrubs my head with shampoo
I giggle and splash in the water
"Y/n stop splashing" mother says lovingly
I look up at her and see her bruised face,I look down in sadness
"Did dad do that to you?" I ask sadly
"No honey I tripped and hit my face" she says smiling weakly
"But it's on both sides of your face mom" I say debunking her lie
She smiles and caresses my cheek
"You always were sharp (smart or intuitive)even at your age" she says smiling more genuinely
"Was it my fault that dad hit you?" I ask with my head down
"No honey no" she says as she gently pulls my face to look at her
"It wasn't your fault,nothing he does to me is your fault" she adds with tears in her eyes
I start crying as well
"Mom I promise one day I'll make sure dad can't hurt you anymore,I'll be more powerful than him and he will be afraid of us"I say firmly and confidently but with a tone of sadness
She smiles and rubs the tears from my cheeks
"I know you will honey,you'll be the most powerful hero but you don't need to worry about me,I'll be fine"she says happily
"I do worry mommy! He hurts you and I don't like it, I'll hurt him if he hurts you when I get more powerful" I say seriously
"Ohh honey I appreciate you caring for me but I want you to protect yourself and when you Become more powerful than him I want you to run and never look back" she says whilst crying
I shake my head
"I can't,I won't leave you " I whisper
She leans in and kisses my forehead
"You can and you will" she whispers
A handful of bubbles fall from my head which alerts my mother
"Ohh right I need to wash off the bubbles sorry" she laughs weakly as she wipes her tears away
I don't respond
She grabs the extendable shower pipe and turns on the tap but when the water comes out it's cold
"Ahhh!" I shout as I jump
She turns the tap the other way and the hot water comes out
"sorry y/n!,I didn't mean to turn the cold water on" she apologises quickly
"It's ok mom" I say lovingly
She kisses the end of my nose and ruffles my hair
"My little king "she says quietly and lovingly
We sit in silence for a few seconds until a gruff and deep voice calls out to mother
"Liana! Hurry the fuck up,he needs to train!" Father calls from downstairs
Her face visibly changes from happiness to anger and fear
"Ok one second!" Mother shouts in a croaky voice
"No now! And don't fucking shout at me!" He shouts back
She flinches and closes her eyes
"Sorry babe" she says back
She looks back at me and smiles weakly
"Time to go " she says to me
*flashback ends"
I gasp for air as tears fall down my face,I put my hands against the shower wall to stop myself from collapsing
"I promise" I whisper through the tears
I turn on the hot water and let it flow over my body
I stand still for a few minutes but I snap out of it and start properly showering
10 minutes later
I wrap a towel around my waist and step out of the shower but when I walk out kirishima is stood near the sinks opposite the showers brushing his teeth
He looks up into the mirror and sees me stood behind him
"Woah y/n where did you get that scar?" He asks with his toothbrush still in his mouth
"Knife wound" I answer blankly
"That's so manly y/n no offence but I think it's so cool" he says spitting the toothpaste out
"None taken" I reply quietly
He turns around and looks at me but his face drops when he sees my bloodshot eyes
"Y/n are you ok?" He asks concerned
I wipe my eyes again
"Haha yeah I'm fine" I reply and force a fake laugh
"Y/n what's wrong?,your a terrible liar" he says stepping towards me
"No man it's nothing" I say quietly
"Well If you don't want to tell me you don't have to but just know I'm here for you" he says seriously
"Thanks man"I say as I get my toothbrush and start brushing my teeth
