The royals of gandhar accepted their princess decision. It was decided that the child will be raised in Ghandar as a royal.They didn't had any choice though,if they separated the child from Gandhari it will hurt her, they can't do that to their precious princess.Gandhari never left karn.others said it was a bad decision to raise karn, that it may affect her chance in finding a suitable groom. Gandhari didn't cared about her marriage, she knew that her father had plans for her marriage. She knew about the marriage proposal from Hastinapur.It would have benefited both countries, Hastinapur had a mighty army and gandhar famous for its spices.The marriage would have helped both the nations. Hastinapur market would have flood with spices from gandhar, while gandhar's army strength would increase tenfold.But fate was against them.King Veerdath was killed by panchal king Drupad causing a halt in her father's plan.she knew he still wants her to become daughter in-law of the great kuruvansh.
But at the moment none of that mattered to her,the only thing that mattered was the precious boy who laid in her hands.
Karn would make a fuss if anyone else tried to hold him other than Gandhari,the child always felt safe ,when she sung lullaby and happiness when he stared at her eyes
In kuntiboj, shurasena felt relieved knowing that his reputation is safe, queen Marisha prayed everyday for the protection of her grandson, while kunti isolated herself from others, gone was the innocent girl whom veer loved,who gave birth to his son,instead now she was a princess who had vowed to protect the ones she loved ,no matter what she has to do

Hastinapur

On a auspicious day, Pandu was coronated as the new king of Hastinapur.The royals were waiting for the arrival of Vidhur at Satyvati chambers. Though he was the son of king unlike his brothers he lived at East wing which belonged to servants and other officials ,since his mother was low born maid.Vidhur entered the chamber and saw Satyvati and bishma .he greeted them both and sat on the chair reserved for him
" I don't want to make the same mistake I did with veer,I want Pandu to marry soon" said Satyvati
" But jyesht Dhritarashtra is still not married, king can't marry until his brother is married" said Vidhur
" Dhritarashtra will be married soon, bhishm write to king of gandhar that our offer still stands, eldest son of kuruvansh will marry his daughter . Gandhari will become the wife of Dhritarashtra if he didn't accept he will have to face the might of Hastinapur army" said Satyvati
Bhishm didn't said anything,just nodded his head and went out to send a messanger to gandhar, Vidhur too after saying his farewell went to his chambers. On the way to his chambers he saw Dhritarashtra ,he greeted his brother but Dhritarashtra walked away without acknowledging  him

Gandhar

The messanger from Hastinapur reached gandhar.the Maharaj was happy that Hastinapur still wanted to continue the proposal.He wanted her daughter to marry the maharaj of the most powerful kingdom in aaryavarth,but the contents in the letter enraged him.He thought that they would offer the hands of the new king Pandu for her daughter,but how dare they asking, not asking ordering her daughter to marry that blind prince who was rejected throne by his own family. He wrote a letter to bhishm stating that "he won't let his daughter to marry Dhritarashtra, Gandhari who fears darkness won't share her life with a man whose only companion is darkness"
The messanger hand over the letter to bhishm
" What should we do now" asked bhishm.
" What were the contents of your letter" asked Pandu
" To accept the proposal or face the wrath of Hastinapur" said Bhishm
" Then he has to face the might of Hastinapur army, bhishm attack gandhar and bring  Gandhari once gandhar is in our hands we will place a trustworthy man to govern gandhar" said Satyvati
Vidhur didn't like this,he now understood the ingenious plan of his grandmother she knew by offering the hands of jyesht Dhritarashtra gandhar would feel offend, and would reject the proposal leading tAtashree to wage war against this insult,
Gandhar doesn't have a army that could defeat Hastinapur,nor they have a mighty warrior like his uncle . gandhar will fall, and it's governance will come under the jurisdiction of Hastinapur, unlike the first time if princess had married jyesht Veer , Hastinapur will have full control over the crops and spices produced in the fertile lands of gandhar,since Hastinapur is waging war against the insult they faced hence no other nations would interfere. similar to when bhishm kidnapped the Kashi princess.Bhishm dismissed himself from the room and went to meet the second-in-commander of the army and kuluguru kripachariya.
It was decided that Hastinapur army would go to war against gandhar after 2 days
