He awoke slowly, the window to his right allowing for a placid wave of sunlight to peek through as it seeped into the tranquil atmosphere. He lazily glimpsed over, noticing the still sleeping Sakura serenely breathing next to him. Her blush colored lips were slightly parted, minutely moving as she took steady breaths. He studied the slender curve of her face, and the natural rose tint on her cheeks. Her raven hair was askew on the feather pillow that supported her, her bangs disheveled across her forehead. Every so often, her eyelids would flutter peacefully, almost as an unconscious sign of contentment. His vision then trailed down, noting the faded freckles that littered across her nose, and their contrast to her tanned complexion.

He counted them too.

He wasn't sure why drove him to do so, but for some reason, it soothed him.

She's perfect.

As the thought crossed him, her chocolate irises revealed themselves, heat instantly rising to her lethargic features as she recalled the intimate evening before. She wasn't as near to him as when they laid down, though his arm remained securely draped over her waist, the other placed beside his face.

"Mornin' shitty woman." His naturally husky timbre made her stomach contort painfully, as she was suddenly very aware of their position.

"I'm sorry." She muttered, beginning to scoot further away to give him space.
