CHAPTER NINE

MY MONDAY feels normal. I am not sad, but I don't feel happy too. Sakto lang. Our boss is currently in a business related activity. Steph said Mr. Mancini went to Baguio for a three-Day seminar and something related to publishing. At dahil maagang napasok si Steph, siya ang naabutan ni Leandro sa office bago siya umalis. No, I am not jealous. I am just sad and disappointed with myself. Masyado lang akong umasa na makikita ko siya ngayon, at kung aalis pala siya, sana ay nagpaalam muna siya sa 'kin. Oh, well. Maybe Leandro is busy, so I will not jump into conclusions.

Pero nagtatampo pa rin ako. Ni hindi man lang siya nagtext. At saka kahit kagabi, bago siya umalis ay sana manlang sinabi niya. Hello, he ate my my.. I mean, tinikman niya ang cherry ko. Sana man lang nagpaalam siya. Psh.

"Don't be sad, it's just three days." Napanguso ako nang asarin ako ni Steph hindi pa man ako nakakapasok sa sarili kong office.

I don't want to be sad either, I just can't help it.

"Hindi naman ako malungkot." Labas sa ilong na anas ko na ikinatawa ni Steph. Umiiling-iling pa siya bago ako tuluyang makapasok sa office.

Salubong ang kilay ko nang agad kong mabungaran sa office table ko ang maliit na box. May kung anong bagay ang umikot sa tiyan ko nang makitang may maliit na note ding nakadikit sa table ko, katabi ng maliit na box.

My face just turned red, and surely I feel the heat down there just by reading his note.

With my trembling hands, I open the pink box to find a dazzling bracelet inside. My mouth literally went "O" when I figured that it wasn't silver but platinum.

Napabungisngis rin ako nang makitang may design na cherries yung bracelet. Paano siya nakakita agad ng ganito samantalang kagabi lang nangyari ang cherries-thing? Leandro and his ways. Psh.

So, this is the reason why he didn't text me? He chose to leave a post-it note on my table. Though he doesn't have to give me a bracelet. And it wasn't just a bracelet but a platinum bracelet! I know he's wealthy, but still, I don't want him to give me things, especially expensive things.

Nang maibalik ko sa kahon ang expensive bracelet ay tsaka ko binuksan ang computer. To my surprise, Leandro emailed me.
