"No," Romi muttered as she searched through her bag. Of course, this would happen to her. Only she would be so monumentally stupid. She shook her head, "Damn it."

It had now been a day since the incident on Halloween and she was ignoring Sirius. She could barely breathe the same air as him without wanting to tear his head off. Between that and barely being able to look her brother in the eye because the image of him and Sirius together kept flashing through her mind, she was on her own.

That is, except for James who seemed to have picked up on the tension. Although, he was convinced that Romi and Sirius were indeed hooking up and the reason she was ignoring the boy was because she didn't want James to ask any more questions. He didn't quite understand what happened with Remus and he continued to ask questions about it.

James looked over at her in confusion. He had sat next to her in Transfiguration despite her protest. He tried to get information out of her but she refused. "What is it?"

She closed her eyes for a moment and shook her head again, "I didn't do the homework." She rested her head in her hands, shaking her head once more. Merlin, her dad was going to kill her. All he needed was one reason and she was always so quick to give it to him.

She remembered clearly what had happened. She had started it while she was in the library when Sirius and Remus showed up. She had at first allowed them to sit with her and she was able to ignore them until Sirius spoke up, acting as though he hadn't said what he had to her.

Romi left right after that, the half completed homework sitting on the table. The regret and worry was palpable. Why did she let Sirius get to her so easily?

James watched her for a moment before pulling out his wand. He erased his own name from his paper and quickly jotted down 'Romulus Lupin' before pushing the paper to the edge of the desk in front of the girl.

McGonagall stopped by their table and picked up the paper before turning to James, "And where is your homework, Mr. Potter?"

Romi's head shot up at this. She looked up at the Professor before turning to look at James. She opened her mouth to ask what was going on. Romi couldn't believe what was happening, she was certain it was a dream.

"I didn't do it," he answered quickly before Romi could say anything. "I forgot."

Her eyebrows pinched together as she scanned over the paper, "Detention this Saturday."

As soon as class was over, Romi berated James all the way to their Defense Against the Dark Arts class. "You shouldn't have done that!" she exclaimed. "It was stupid."

"You care more about your grades than I do," he reminded her, "Besides, what's one more detention?"

She whacked him on the arm, "Don't do that again."

"Don't forget your homework then."

She scowled before walking past him and entering the classroom with a huff. The room was empty sans a cabinet that was at the center of the room. He was arrogant and cocky that it drove her absolutely mad.

"Goodmorning, class," the Professor greeted. James made an attempt at catching Romi's eye but she ignored him. Everyone needed to stop treating her as though she was some damsel in distress. She could deal with her own problems if they would just let her. "Today we will be learning about bogarts."

"What's her deal?" Sirius asked and James shrugged in response. James was clueless as to why Romi was upset. He had only done her a favor.

"Romi, if you would step forward, please," the teacher requested. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes and stepped forward.
