"Oh, would you get over yourself?" Romi requested with a huff. "We've been back for a week now, I will not be waiting on your hand and foot."

"Fine," Sirius replied, his nose wrinkling slightly, "Then I want a party."

"A party?" she gaped, "Are you going to announce to the Hogwarts pupils of your many holiday adventures then?"

"No," he replied as though it were obvious, "It'll be the last party before everyone hunkers down for the O.W.L's. But for us it'll be in my honor."

She scoffed, "You lot have fun with that then."

Sirius let out a sigh, "Hmm, I forgot it was that time of the month."

Peter's eyebrows raised in confusion, "The full moon isn't for another week."

"Not that time of the month, Wormtail," he replied, "This one-" Before he could finish, a pillow nailed him in the face.

"I hope it leaves a bruise," Romi scowled as she stomped up the stairs.

"You're not invited anymore!" he called after her as he rubbed his nose.

"I didn't want to come anyway!" she shouted back before the door slammed shut, leaving the Gryffindor common room in a rather awkward and unfamiliar silence.

"What did you do this time, Pads?" James asked as he took a seat across from the boy.

"What makes you think it was my fault?" Sirius scoffed.

"When is it not your fault?" Remus inquired.

"Fine then, you two aren't invited either, only Wormtail is welcome."

"Invited to what, exactly?"

"My party," he answered simply.

"Party?" James asked in confusion.

"To celebrate my recovery."

James snorted, "That explains the outburst then."

"What did I do?"

"You were an ass for the past two weeks, Padfoot," he reminded the boy, "And while she put up with it for good reason and helped you out nevertheless, it was only a matter of time before she snapped."

He harrumphed, crossing his arms over his chest, "I was not an ass."

"You kind of were," Peter countered.

Sirius narrowed his eyes, "Now you've lost your invite."

"Invite to what?" Marlene asked from behind the couch, "And where's mine?"

"It's a verbal, invite, love," he replied before gesturing to his lips as he looked up at her, "It's right here."

Marlene rolled her eyes, "When's the party?"

"Tonight, eight, probably," he shrugged, "Spread the word, if you'd like."

Sirius looked over at his friends and he didn't miss the frown on Remus's face. He brushed it off, however, as he pushed himself off the couch. "I have arrangements to make," he announced, "I'll see you lot later."

James tapped the arm of the couch as he stared at the spot where Sirius had been sitting. "Prongs?" Peter spoke and he looked up to find that Remus had left as well. "You okay?"

"I'm alright, Pete, thanks for asking," he replied as the portrait to the common room opened. He shot up immediately, "I'll see you later." He started toward the portrait, "Oi, Evans!"

Lily looked up and rolled her eyes, "What is it this time, Potter?"

"Are you going to your room?"

She narrowed her eyes, "Yes?"
