Chapter 25: Protect Gowasu and Destroy Zamasu

In Universe 10, Gowasu was approached by Beerus, Whis, Shin, Goku, and Kagome when he was unexpectedly surprised with widened eyes.

"What's up?" Goku greeted him, waving at him.

"My. Another surprise visit." Gowasu said, standing up from the chair and facing the five widely, "If something happened to bring you here?"

"Well, first of all, we want to see if you're alright," Shin said.

"What does that mean? Why would I be alright?" Gowasu asked in confusion.

"Is Zamasu here?" Kagome asked, her voice sounding serious.

"We would like to see him most urgently," Whis said.

The Supreme Kai turned his head and then turned back to the others. "I'm so sorry to disappoint you, but I'm afraid he's been absentee since early this morning."

"Absentee tea?" Beerus asked, frowning.

"Where might he be?" Whis asked curiously.

Gowasu sighed. "I have no idea where he's at." He then faced the two like Goku and Kagome, "Tell me, does my apprentice do something wrong?"

Goku frowned lightly. "The fact is that he's making a big mess in the future."

He blinked with a sweatdrop. "What?"

"Goku, you idiot!" Beerus shouted as he hit him in the back of his head.

"Ow! What was that for?" Goku wailed.

"Goku, you shouldn't tell Gowasu about this. Or else he'll find out." Kagome told him.

He chuckled nervously. "Oh... right! Sorry!" Goku smiled at her as he scratched the back of his head but he felt a pain where Beerus had hit him.

"Is there anything about Zamasu that's been bothering you lately?" Beerus asked.

He was confused. "Bothering?" He asked, "How do you mean?"

"Talk of divine justice for example." He replied.

"What? Divine justice... is still a young kai." He said, "I have already put those doubts to rest."

"Doubts?" Kagome asked.

"Zamasu is in the process of learning his divine duties and in due time he will oversee the tenth universe as its Supreme Kai as I have for eons what is the meaning of mortality, wisdom, what is the essence of Godhood. We watch the ups and downs of countless worlds and questions arise. He and I maintain a healthy dialogue."

"Questions. That's a gentle way to put it and you're saying those questions have been put to rest." Kagome said with a frown look.

Gowasu nodded. "Yes." He continued, "Right now his soul is perfectly cleared. For a time, he was apprehensive about a kaiser roll, about the interplay between good and evil, and his desire for justice, but I have helped him understand the perspective necessary for a Supreme Kai and he has opened the door that leads to enlightenment."

Then Zamasu appeared, apparently calm despite the appearance of Universe 7, especially Kagome while he was moving his lips into a calm smirk, telling Gowasu he brought his tea.

What are the Shikon Priestess and her meddler friends doing here? Zamasu asked himself in his thoughts before he closed the door and greet them.

"Well, what a pleasant surprise this is. It's the Supreme Kai of the Seventh Universe, the Shikon Priestess, and the God of Destruction, Lord Beerus. His attendant Whis. And let's see... you were... Goku, right?"
