Meet the Star: AkoSiIbarra

I was influenced by the role-playing games that I was addicted into when I was in elementary. I found the idea of controlling my character's growth, skills, equipment, and actions interesting. I created scenarios in my head, and I thought of putting them on paper. Then it became an almost everyday scenario. My mind is always flooded with ideas, characters, dialogues, etc. I need to unleash them through writing. 

Back in 2014, a schoolmate of mine tweeted that his sister's Wattpad story (The Bet by iluvrbooks) was going to be adapted into film (Star Cinema's Just The Way You Are). Curious, I downloaded the app, created an account, read that story, and realized the potential of this platform. I can share my stories and I can find readers here. I started writing under a pen name that I already forgot, but got little to no readers (probably because the story's in English). Few months later, I created the akosiibarra account and tried writing again. The rest is history.

Project LOKI. While it's not my first story on Wattpad, it's the story that catapulted me to where I am today. If it weren't for that story, I might not be answering this form. The amount of effort that I put into writing it was immeasurable. It's also the most well-loved among my stories. 

In terms of writing, the moment when Project LOKI ranked #1 under the Mystery/Thriller category and became one of the featured stories under that genre. In terms of community, meeting not only my readers, but also my fellow writers in the platform. 

Not all stories require romantic endgame. The characters' growth from the first chapter until the inevitable end is more important than the so-called "ships" or "labels."

Great things take time. You or your story will not be successful, famous, or critically acclaimed overnight. Just keep on writing what you want, just keep on sharing what you want the world to know. Don't be obsessed with numbers. Be patient. If someone opens a door of opportunity for you, don't go rushing inside. Think. Think twice. Your decision will determine or influence your writing journey.
