"Evie!" Natasha waved at her, "come over to meet Wanda and Vision."
"I'll be up on the observation deck if you need me," Bucky said, staring into her eyes. Once she smiled back he walked off leaving her alone walking towards Natasha.
"Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you both," Evelyn smiled looking at the two people in front of her. Wanda looked to be her age and looking at Vision she understood why Nat had said he was hard to describe.
"You as well Miss Bennet," Vision said nodding towards her. "I will be taking my leave - I'm going to find Tony."
"Nat has told us so much about you," Wanda said smiling at her. "It's wonderful to have another woman here."
Evelyn smiled back, "Thank you so much for helping me figure out my powers. I apologize if you had to rush back before your training was over."
"No, we were ready to come home. I am happy to help in any way I can," Wanda said gesturing to the two chairs set up across from one another. "I was told a little about your powers but feel it would be better if I heard it from you."
"Of course, but I don't think I can tell you much to be honest," Evelyn said, taking a seat.
"Just start with whatever you can think of. I just need a guideline," Wanda said reassuringly.
"Well after I was injected with the serum from HYDRA for a year or so I realized I could feel emotions around me." Evelyn started thinking back.
"Describe how they felt," Wanda said watching her
"I could only feel strong emotions and only in small spaces. I felt a lot of fear and anger from the Doctor and the Soldiers that helped him." Evelyn said remembering the Doctor checking on her and getting angry when she wasn't exhibiting any new powers.
"Did you go through any training with HYDRA?" Wanda asked
"Yes - I have no clue how they even knew I had the powers," Evelyn said looking at the woman. "They had different people come into the room and had me feel their emotions and then more people at once and the same thing."
"Then one day they took me into a room and there was a man tied to a chair," Evelyn looked down, "he looked crazy. I don't think I have ever seen someone so angry. It was almost animalistic."
"Why did they take you there?" Wanda asked, putting a hand on her knee.
"I was supposed to calm him down. They wanted me to use my powers to force him to stop being angry," Evelyn looked at her, "I couldn't do it. I was so afraid and the Doctor kept yelling to push a calming emotion through me too him - otherwise the prisoner would kill me."
"I tried but I couldn't push the feelings - I didn't know what he meant. So I went up to him and touched his arm but I was so scared the only emotion I could muster was fear so I ended up pushing that through me." Evelyn took a breath thinking about the man, "I only made it worse. He was like a cornered animal then - he broke through his restraints and threw me across the room. He got out of the room and all I heard were gunshots."
"What happened after this incident?" Wanda gave her a reassuring look trying to help her get through the story.
"I had training off and on when the Doctor was at the base, but I wasn't able to figure out how to push my powers to someone or feel more subtle emotions. Eventually everyone was banned from coming into contact with me because I kept trying to use Soldiers to escape. I almost did once by making them feel the pain I felt - but we were caught and they were killed."
Wanda nodded her head and waved the others towards them. "Okay let's start very simple today and next week we can plan on expanding more later. I think you will be able to use more power since you are in a safe place."
